Allen Heath. . I saw him run at Ascot in the 60's, and when he'd win he would run a hot lap shaking that hook in the air like a madman!
Half the lies they tell about me aren't true.

I shot this at the Iowa State Fair Aug. 21, 1977.
My notes say Jimmy Riggens leading Ralph Blackett in the #40 and Mike Brooks in the #12.

That was the day I was born. I assume that Mike Brooks is in the Mickow sprinter, the original TMC car. Thanks for the photo!
I hadn't looked at this thread in a while, had no idea that SJ Fast had passed away. I used to chat with him over at TJ Slideways a few years ago. RIP John.

legman, I toally agree when i started this thread last yr is was just to help myself thru the winter here in se iowa. I would have never thought this thread has produced so may awesome pictures and great stories. I am not sure where a person could find such a collection of pictures of times long gone complete with memories that come from all over the world. Thank you all for the contributions. Have safe holidays and lets keep smiling for all the things we have. Brett

Several pictures of some vintage sprints and modifieds can be found at this link:
We were told the #8 car in this picture last race was the Knoxville Nats in the mid 70s.

This is the track photogopher's website and these pictures are from August when a local Dallas/Ft Worth vintage racing group displayed their cars one night. It was cool to see them actually get the cars out on the track and run hot laps.
Neat pics of the SuperModifieds too plus some old stock cars.

Maybe someone smarter than me can directly link, show, the pics.
