Hey.............#14 is Benny Rapp CAE/Chevy.........I own that car now and would like to know if there are any other pics of the #14 in that album?
Benny ran that car in IMCA from Little 500 in 1965 till 1970 or 71.
It has been unused for a long time now but I have a motor built for it, new fuel and brake lines, a radiator from Benny's barn last year (he is still alive and reasonably well, at 82, near Toledo OH. Have visited him each year for the last 3 years). Has been in the National Sprint Car HoF museum in Knoxville during the 90's. Has been at Calistoga Louie Vermeil show (on display) 2010,11 and 12.
Gotta build a quickchange for it cos it's been stripped of it's innards.......bit of a shock 3 days before the Vermiel show. It's in storage at Sears Point raceway.

When I saw this picture, I busted out in uncontrollable laughter! If this guy was sponsored, his sponsors would be: Armstrong power steering co., Levi's "straight leg" jeans, and Depends undergarments just to name a few. By his facial expression, he's in the midst of a Depends "shit your pants" moment!!!

In about 1970 Al Unser won something like 11 out of 12 USAC dirt mile shows in that Johnny Lightning Special. I remember him at the old State Fairgrounds mile in Sacramento.
He was head and shoulders over everyone else. You could close your eyes and still know who it was going by. That engine sounded like it was screaming and he never lifted!

2 of the most recent Masters...
Steele & Yeley

Good drivers in a great car with the best engine.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?
