Other than a driver, who in the sprint car community should Dave Argabright help write a book next?
While my experience/exposure is admittedly limited compared to a lot of posters on this board, I personally would love to see a book written with Bob Trostle or flagman Doug Clark.
Who would be your pick(s)?

How about Karl Kinser? Karl seemed to be way ahead of everyone else when it came to thinking outside the box. Karl was also ledgendary for adjustments done during a red flag stop. Give that man a 2nd chance at the set up and he was deadly! I think a case could be made that Karl was the BEST owner/crew chief in the history of dirt open wheel racing.
I know you said, other than a driver, but I think Sammy would be a great read if you could get him to open up his thought process about reading a track and setting up an open wheel car. Has there ever been a better driver who does his own set up than Sammy?

AJ Watson, and or my neighbor Willie Davis. The commute to interview them would just be a fairly short drive for Dave to do a story on them. He just lives on the other side of Indy from them.

Bob Trostle---I do not know for sure but I think Larry Weeks has taken alot of info from Bob. Bob is amazing, he can remember almost every thing from past.

I'd say Jimmy Sills. Somebody has to get his many hysterically funny stores and adventures recorded before he can't remember them any more.

I'd have to go with Karl Kinser as well!
How about a medley of long time car owners in a single book? A chapter each...
All I have read so far have been good reads!

A million miles travelled with a million stories (all true I might add) and that would be the Outlaw before there ever was such a connotation; the one, the only Bobby Allen. Scruffy is the ultimate at everything he did; didn't matter if he had a produce truck as a "race rig" to just get to the next race, or the time they washed the gal who puked all over herself in the car wash alongside the dirty race cars. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "Dirty Gurl" doesn't it? I'm telling ya, a thousand, if not millions of stories and all would be true; A quick preview, although somewhat tame, was recently presented in a three part essay in Sprint Car & Midget magazine, and I along with many, many others, could not wait until the second or third piece was presented by the inimitable outlaw writer, John Sawyer. Sawyer still has it in him, and by "living the dream", travelling up and down the highways and byways (some before the modern innterstates were even around), Sawyer lived, raced, and partied with quite a select crowd, the Outkals before there even was Ted Johnson and the World of Outlaws. Perhaps Sawyer would be the man for that undertaking, and seeing a reviatlized Scruffy (he ain't as "Scruffy" as he used to be" helping his protege' Logan Schugart getting with the program with Grandpa Scruffy at his side, building parts and cars for wnd with him, and making those cars and parts bad ass fast as rekindled so many found memories that one cannot help but smile when you wonder what is really going on behind thoe twinkling eyes each time we pass or even say as much as hey man, how are ya doing. He means everything he says. Always did back in the day, and continues that honesty alongside himself these days. Bobby "Scruffy" Allen is and would be my choice, and once the reading is done, I would predictt a sell-out and re-printing as qucikly as he used to push his shark eating 1a would carry his crusty ass, whether it be at Chico on the bumpity bump bullring, on up to the Grove's tight ass corners and all tracks in between. Yep, old Bobby Allen; forget political correctness LMAO, political what? He would ask what the hell is that; let me tell you a story...................and from there it goes on and on and on, just like a prude truck hauling his ass to the next race. No question about it in my mind, the one, the only Bobby Allen. Scruffy aint as Scruffy as he used to be, and that would be brought out. Who would have ever guessed him as "Best Dressed" in his Senior Class yar book? Unreal isn't it? SOMEBODY, Aragbright, SAWYER, anyone who can put a few sentances together can write a book about the man, Bobby Allen.
