Help Hawk. I can't get the pix that you posted to show. What do I need to do to get them?

Thanks

Sweeton

I'm in the same boat...can't see any of Hawker's (or Galen's) pic's before the orange/black/white # 2 that Hawk posted right before yours. I can see everything including Hawk's after you posted though.

IE 6.0.2900 if anyone can figure it out.

Well, I hope I don't piss everyone off for posting this.... but here it goes.

These are the infamous pictures of "the fire" from the 1974 Hutchinson Nationals (NCRA). in Hutchinson, KS. luckily, nobody lost their life in this but Aaron Madden (the person lying down) did receive bad burns on his hands and face. He fully re-cooperated and went on to win a LOT of races in the Kansas, Oklahoma area well into the 80's. I was working on a Super back then (at the ripe old age of 13) and we were supposed to be there for that race but we had blown our motor the weekend before in Tulsa.

Every kid needs a "hero" while growing up.... James McElreath was mine......too bad the pic isn't better. If anyone has ANY pics of James, I would love to have a copy!

nothing listed on his website or current Ebay auctions, but he has enough negatives that I am sure he has some. He'll be at the Des Moines race car parts auction next weekend. If I get a chance to get up there I'll see what he has with him.

From what I can see, Galen's pics aren't uploaded into the HH media files using the image button. He might have just copied and pasted his pics straight from his documents.

First I will say THANK YOU to all of you who are submitting these photos. Please find a way (if you haven't already) to preserve and/or pass them on. A guy by the name of Keith Blocker took pictures at Eldora and New Bremen for many years. He passed away about three years back and apparently all of his work is lost. I contacted a relative of his (an alcoholic) but could find nothing. Keith was a very independent guy and frankly, not very likeable but he had photos that were outstanding. I think he was at every race at both tracks. Beaseckers might know of him as Gene was racing at the time.
