I thought this was a great post a year ago, so why not revive it for this off-season?
Here are a couple of pics from the "back in the day" section of Fremont (Ohio) Speedways website. Follow this link to many more similar photos. http://www.fremontohspeedway.com/backinthedaypage.html
Those right fronts look like right rears. LOL. Look through their gallery and try and identify some of the power plants. It's amazing what todays sprint car evolved from.
Later, Kurt

Now thats a classic shot. Wonder who's the recipient of the multi-lingual message? This thread is turning into quite an archive of historic photos.
This isn't non-wing but damn near, and I'm sure a few PA fans will appreciate this one. The ole Pink Panther himself.

I believe one of these cars are the same car pictured above in SJ Fast's post. This is Reichert and Daniels in Florida Nationals race (I think)....

The car SJ posted is the second one in this photo. My favorite would be the #63 in the foreground.
SJ, did you warm the car up in it's glory days or as a restoration? Reason I'm asking is that my father-in-law owned the auto repair shop kitty corner from Rose Plumbing and was friends with the Wagners. My brother-in-law still owns the shop to this day and he went to school with one of the kids.
And you know who bought the #63 and ran it as #87. ;-)

Stan.....I warmed it (62) up when Ron Larson was the owner/driver and Don Langel was his wrench. I never knew what happened to the "cigar" car (63) after Wilke owned it.....I'd give my right one to find it though ! :o)
Fenders ? We don't need no stinking fenders !!!

Nothing wrong with the quality of those photos. The one of Kruseman in the silver #4 Alexander trucking car must have been at Ventura Tony Jones, who normally drove it, had a broken collar bone and Kruseman filled in and won the feature that night for the Alexander Bros.. It is he only night I can remember him being in that car.

Thanks for the props. Actually the photo of Kruseman was the next weekend at Tulare which if I remember correctly was the last time SCRA ran there. The photo of BK is Tulare also fromt the previous year. Davis and Guant at Perris and Damion photos are from 03 at Oskaloosa.

If that was the Daytime Show Kruser Won, was 4 4 04, then SCRA Ran Tulare May15th, and a June Race following that.

I stand corrected. I had not realized that Cory had driven that car more than the one time. I live in Escondido and don't travel that far North to catch a one night race, wish I could. Was at the Ventura race. Thanks for filling in the gaps, and on the other pics too. Seems none of the guys are in the cars I'm used to seeing them in. And I've only been back into following the sport for a year and a half, so older than that I appreciate the history lesson.
