I only looked thru the list once but didn't see the two new Cat Graders.  Were they leased or did he sell them.  If he sold them or they were leased, that's another big ticket item that would need to be leased/bought.

Could only find the price of used ones on the internet and saw a used 2012 model CAT Grader listed at $199,000.  Really though I doubt if very many tracks have them on hand, probably lease them for a night that looks like rain might happen and then only for special events like the Outlaws or USAC or All Stars or ASCS national tours when its important to try and get the event in.

I wouldn't take that list too seriosly.  Obviously it came directly or indirectly from Chuck, since he has a history of being so truthful (sarcasm), I wouldn't believe this either.  If it was such a good money maker he wouldn't be selling it, or one of his investors would buy him out, or someone with the money would buy it.

Also his statement at the time the vote passed was something along the lines of without being able to do the loan business he couldn't afford his other businsess ventures in South Dakota.  Which I would take as the racetrack wasn't making money.

Yep, several times.   Probably best to ignore him.

2nd that!

It's either Chuck himself or as somebody named them awhile back, a "Chucksucker".

That just kills me. lol

Well I was hoping this was news but says little that is new other than:

"KELOLAND's Don Jorgensen talked with Steve Rubin by phone, he tells me the owner has given him more time to find potential buyers and he's not giving up on the track..   He says the good news, is the track is still standing."

I saw that segment on Kelo last night and laughed. Was like wth, much ado about nothing.

As much as I would like to see the racing return on a Sunday night at Husets, as long as the place is standing might not be a good thing. As long as it stands, nobody else will start in earnest on a new facility or an upgrade anywhere else nearby.

Great news and hopefully the funding can be secured and Knoxviile,Jackson, and I-90 can all work together.Too much tradition to let go. All the extra venues that have been added will take a good promoter to make pay their way.Looking back most people were happy just to see good racing even if the facilities werent new.  Many true fans would enjoy a grass hillside to a high dollar suite !

I overheard this weekend that the South Dakota Development Council and The South Dakota Tourism board are underwrting the loan for Huset to be purchased.

Best bet is if someone buys it from the estate sale-Now we just need someone to step and create the need for the sale!
