So cool to see Ryan get the job done in the feature last night.

A lot of sprint car folks don't know his past, and that at the age of 15 - he's been around racing all his life.

As evidenced the past couple of years, it's been common to see some fan comments along the way like 'flash in a pan' and 'got lucky due to the situation'.

But that's far from reality.

His dad Randy was a very successful modified driver (for decades) so he had the perfect teacher.

I think it's pretty cool when a kid can learn from their parents at a young age and use those tools to find success in life.

Thanks for the TC weekend updates W!

For those of you out there still coming up to speed on 'who is Ryan Timms,' here's a great shot - and this was from 3 years ago:

May be an image of 4 people and people smiling

I have no idea on his funding situation or connections, but he seems to be the next kid who can already outrace the adults and has a big future.

Obviously the kid has some decent connections and runs well in a winged sprinter but was suprised he couldn't get much done in one of Boat's midgets. At his age he is definately one to keep an eye on though. It is fun watching these younger kids progress through the years, they are the future of open wheel racing.

Thanks for the write ups Bill !

I don't know if Scelzi assaulted him or not, I just saw him approach Borden's car after the crash but they were out of view on the broadcast. However, Devon Borden is out of control most of the time and had no idea where he was going except right through the side of Dominic's car on the entry of turn 1. The kid has talent but he's usually over his head and he's going to end up hurting someone or himself if he doesn't check himself

Been watching young Ryan Timm's race for a few years (mostly online) at the ASCS races in the Midwest and around there. He is only 15 years young, EXTREMELY well sponsored as his family has good business, but I swear you wouldn't know it. Talked to both him and his Dad in OKlahoma about their hauler which is probably one of the nicest on the road and they couldn't be more down to earth. He will go a long way. He will be the first to say he has a lot to learn.

I was more than surprised at the Borden/Scelzi deal. Not so much about the bonsai move from Borden.. but Scelzi's car wasn't that badly damaged (especially for that team) and yes I do know that ..and he was SO high in points why he wouldn't keep his head until at least after the race? It cost him so much money and on and on.. then I heard rumors that although DQ'd he got paid for 24th ($5000) so it really may not have cost him anything I guess.. I mean, he could have won the race very easily as well as the points  $27,000? but he also could have crashed out on Lap 2 or whatever. So, the whole blab of this story was that the lap before this I was SHOCKED at the move that Dom had put on the 57 of Kofoid. Could have been an end to the night in that one. If you get to see a replay, check it out.. Heat Race, Turns 3&4.

Just a couple of my Trophy Cup things after the trip from sunny AZ.

What a great weekend of races.

The heats on saturday were so close , and if you saw how hard Buddy ran in his heat on man

You new he was fast but there was miss fortune for 24 and 0 early and with 94 getting 2 flats it was over. points wise.

Still 5T got it done and really ran hard to stay up in top 3.

Scelzi 41s really let down his fans and family on that deal all his doing

He should leave the car at the shop this weekend and go watch the races maybe be humbled by seeing what he gets to do.

I feel he forgot how special it is to be racing .
