Good racing. Done before 10, no complaints here. Montieth had a better car, Pittman is just a better driver and Brian showed him his hand too early. 6 locals in the top 10, but didn't get the spot that counted. Thank you Mother Nature for finally cooperating for an Outlaw weekend...on to tomorrow!

hmm... oddly quiet from the PA group regarding the race. Thinking it would be different had the Edge made it past Pittman. Just wondering why the 'better car' didn't win the race? wink

Because he got out drove Smile

He showed Pittman his hand too early, still a great rim-riding run for Brian.

Dirthawk, what happened to Dave Blaney?  Looking at the results, looks like he timed second, started 8th in the feature, but listed as finishing 23rd.  Thanks. Also, how did Shane Stewart run?

It was a really good showing by the Lincoln regulars. Regardless of who wins, I focus on which group takes the most money as an indicator of how the night went. I wasn't there, but if you include part-timers like Wolfe and Stevie, the Posse took home a bit more of the money (approx 25k to 22k) than the outsiders. You do that w/o winning and it's a pretty strong showing.

Really? thats some good spin right there, So it dosnt matter who wins as long as the posse makes more money? good one.

Monteith used up whatever he had getting from 15th to second, I agree with Dirthawk, had he been a little more patient he could have made the pass but he didnt and Pittman is that damn good that he had him covered. Good race, another example of front row winner still being a good race.

The highlight of the evening was seeing the host of Sprintcar Unlimited, Ray Baim...However, his sidekick was MIA...

Haha, I am about as far from a Posse fan as anyone (outside of our old friend MSPN), but money earned is a good indicator of which group did better. For example, if Pittman was the only Outlaw in the top 10, would you say that was a good night for the WoO? It was a solid night for both groups, just pointing that out.

I heard Pittman say it was a good night for the pill draw...but I tuned out much of the chatter in fovar of the fellowship of the VIP regulars.

designating a different work area for the A Main than the rest of the evening that essentislly disqualifies team who didn't rush out and purchaes a fully equiped mule after having this sprung on them at the drivers meeting is bush league bullshit.

imagine if Lincoln says next time...no full size haulers with mules permitted inside the ground next year?

tilting the a main work area really screwed a few locals...while Kinser screwed himself as he rammed the wall...and the remainder of the travelers filled the back half of the finishing order.

Lincoln 1845 ft/.35 mile T1=118MPH
Eldora 2287 ft/.43mile T3=135MPH
Port 2716 ft/.51 mile T3=TBD
Grove 2792 ft/.53 mile T3=135MPH
Selinsgrove 2847 ft/.54 mile T1=136MPH

Dave didn't finish. He and McIntyre brought out the yellow, but both were victims of not knowing the work area was moved for the feature so they didn't restart. Shane Stewart struggled in his heat (7th I believe) but transfered through the B. He got lapped probably half way through the feature.

Nice to see Blaney and Stewart show up. I'm surprised that Rico didn't make the trip...he was at Lernerville..only a couple hour tow to central Pa.

Just thinking out loud, maybe Rico headed back Knoxville way to get some laps, sort of like Sammy has done.  Just my guess.

Yea the new work area thing sucked, JJ Grasso gets a flat running 2nd or third 2 laps into the race, they push him to the work area and he just sits there waiting while 20 or so other crews sit and watch, I thought maybe someone would help him out but....

All teams were informed at the drivers meeting that the work area for the A main would be in the infield. This is done so that fans have a better view of the action in the work area.  (The reason it isn't there for the entire night is that crossing the crews, etc. for each heat, the dash, and the LCS would create too much of a delay.)

well Johnny Id say the message did not reach all the teams for whatever reason, and it wasnt just one or two teams. As a fan I could care less if I can see the "action"  in the work area, changing a right rear or repairing a front end is not all that entertaining. On the other hand I dont believe it was done to screw the locals as somone said above.

It was a great race that a WoO driver had to earn, simple as that.  I was a Pittman fan when he was here and he showed why he and that car are in the top 3 most potent combinations in the country.  Very pleased to see all the charging through the field by locals and they made some money which only helps them.  If you can't enjoy this many fast cars in one A-main you just don't like racing, no matter who wins.  Was good to see Montieth finally put on a show like that when the WoO are in town.  The rest of us have been watching for years and Pittmans experience in PA paid off.  Not sure someone who didn't run Lincoln regularly would have been smart enough to move to the top when they saw "21" flash on the board in 2nd.  If Montieth gains 14 spots in 15 laps, you know where he's at on the track and Pittman drove the perfect race.

We, in AREA 51 (as in me, myself and I) always root for Monteith to finish second, and he did not disapoint...SmileSmileSmile

The fans in AREA 51, and Lincoln fans in general, are unimpressed by a donkey parade...Skewed rules are what we saw...
