8/30/2008 Season Championship
PLUS we are raising money for two of our fellow racers who have been injured
Two Jackson Speedway Drivers have had recently been hospitalized and we are going to have a “Fund Raiser Weekend” to help these two guys out with medical bills, time away from work etc.
Mike Bloomstom has been a regular in our double barrel sprint car class for the past several seasons. He was injuring in a racing incident on the Friday Night of the Jackson Nationals. He has a compound fracture of both lower leg bones, in his left leg. He was in the hospital for several days and has another surgery coming up this week on his leg, to set the bones on the inside of the leg.
ChadTaylor is the driver of the 74T hobby stock. He was injured on his way to work, when the van he was driving was struck by a semi. He has some serious injuries to his legs and pelvic area. He is currently at SaintMaryHospital in Rochester.
We are going to split all money raised evenly between these two drivers.
Money will be raised in the following ways:
* For the 8/30 Season Championship, Jackson Speedway will be donating $1 per grandstand paid adult admission and $5 per race car. If we reach 100 Cars, the Jackson Speedway will up its donation to $10 per car and if we reach 1,000 paid admissions the Jackson Speedway will double this amount to $2 per head. So if we reach these two goals the Jackson Speedway would donate $3,000!
* The Jackson Speedway Drivers will pass their helmets at an intermission.
How can you help your two fellow drivers out? Race at the Jackson Speedway this Saturday Night and bring lots of Friends!
