The track just seems different this year to me. I honestly think it is the new dirt that they put on it over the last off season thats makjing it race different. Not saying it is bad dirt because we have had some incredible races this year but it is not the same as from the old stuff they were putting on it.
Maybe it's just me too, but I don't remember the inside berms being so high! those suckers look to be about 2 feet tall. Maybe they have always been that high but now they just seem higher.

I've been to the races weekly and the Nationals for multiple decades. They are the best. Do I wish the track was wider during the Wednesday, yes I do, but I know there are other factors that are likely invovled that even I do not know or consider.
Some of us are too quick to judge, when we've never done anything like this, let alone water your own yard.
I also don't think a track has to be " perfect ". I like seeing the cushion curb up and the bottom grove narrow.
I've said this in the past, we're all too spoiled and should appreciate what we have.

If any track out there puts as much work & effort into it as the Dunkins, I'd like to hear who it is.
There has to be so many variables that makes it impossible to nail it everytime but for the most part they do.

They were the same size as always. Just more guys miss judged them than normal from what I saw. There is speed there if you can get to them but it seem like a majority of guys couldn't get ahold of them. Most likely because of the cooler temps as a lot of drivers said it was greasy down there.
The berms are a little over 2ft I'd say in the center. Each year my son and I walk around the track and each year I stand with my leg as close as I can get to the berm. I'm 6'6 and it goes past my knee to the lower part of my thigh. I'd say it's about 2 -2ft 3in. A little difference this year was the bottom was a little softer than usual by the berm. Mostly because I don't think a lot of guys could get it to stick right on the berm because against, 3 nights it was in the 50s.

I understand the " Dunkins" prep Knoxville but the way the name is thrown out there it seems like Mr and Mrs Dunkin take the family to rhe track and its a family activity.
Who are the Dunkins?
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

A family that moved to Iowa after selling a few donut & coffee shops in the New York area. Wanted a little quiet time in the midwest, took up track prep as a hobby, one thing lead to another and here we are.
Hey it's on the internet and say anything with confidence it must be true right.
