Brown finished 3rd Friday night at Huset's. Anyone know why he was not entered Saturday night?

He said he was buried in the points from running so bad the first night so he loaded up and raced an ASCS race at I70 10 minutes from his house and closer to his main sponsors.  I watched the feature there and it didn't look like there was 250 people in the stands.

Brian said it was a business decision on his part. I think he could have raced his way into the A main and the exposure and money would have been a lot better than an ASCS race, but not my business to make those decisions for.

Agree 100% but what do we know as race fans?. Watching the feature on Flo, it looked like he had the field covered until two laps to go when he developed engine issues. What does second pay in an ASCS feature?

I was at I-70 last night, and it had a good crowd.   Well more than 250 people.    I-70 is a large track that has a massive seating section.  The lower level of seating is chair backs and they have a large General area aluminum bleacher section.   The fans spread out all over the track.

The heat races were not much to watch as the track was very fast.   The main event was a better race.   When the caution came out with 9 to go is when Brown started to smoke, but was able to hold on to the lead until a very late caution.   Johnson was able to get him on the Green-White-Checkered restart.   Without the last caution, Brown would have won.

That's good that they had a decent groud. Camera views can be decieving. Need people to go to the races to keep the tracks going.

The concept of the "true Outlaw" who doesn't race for points was a two edged sword for Brown and Reutzel fans when both bailed.  True Outlaws are great when they show up unexpectedly at the pit gate.  Not so much when they use their freedom from tow money and season points to bail out early on a big show.  Chatter is that some fans traveled long distances and are no longer fans of "true Outlaws".

Meanwhile you can bank on putting Outlaw member drivers in your event advertising without worrying that they'll change their mind and head elsewhere.  That platinum status or whatever they call it is the only thing that assures their presence.  The car count wasn't bad for going up against Dirt Cup out west and whatever is going on back in PA this past weekend.  These big events other than the Nationals going up against other big events aren't ever going to draw the 100+ cars of a Knoxville Nationals that everyone plans around.  They're decent car counts and have good attendance and racing but I think with everything going on it would be tough to draw much more than 50.

True, but rimriding around a tight, high-banked bullring in lots of traffic seems to be one of Haudenschild's talents; Brown, not so much.

If we're being honest, this is why people don't like Brian Brown.

Another factor is this equation is that the Friday portion of the ASCS show at I-70 was rained out.   If it would have been a two day show, the best that Brian could have started on Saturday was 11th per the rules of the event.   However, since Friday was rained out, Brian was part of the qualfying draw and started 4th.

It would seem that knowing that he had to start mid pack with several of the normal ASCS National guys starting up front could have led Brown to make a different decision.   At some point, the start money for the Husets show becomes too big to go away from.

He sucks at tracks you have to drive at.  He's only good at Knoxville

It shouldn't be a big suprise to anyone that he went to I-70 . He has said before he doesn't like small track I was surprised he even showed up at Husets or at Jackson the week before . 99% of the time the only place he runs good is on a 1/2 mile track   Glen Murra

If sucking means finishing 3rd at Husets, then I'll take it. I think, THINK he does fairly well when he heads out east. I believe he's also a track record holder at the best race track in PA, Port Royal.

21st in points going into Saturday ( by the way the guy who won was 19th) to leave to go cherry pick, ironically the guy  who won that race finally found where he belongs... anyway what little fans he had up north are probably pretty much gone!
