Lets have some more fun.
This time, you are a WEALTHY owner. You have 3 sprint car teams, haulers and a huge shop full of sprint cars. You are going to go out on the road with the Outlaws.
You decide you want to:
1. Hire one proven, veteran driver-who has (almost) always had top-tier equipment- to not only get you some wins but to mentor your other 2 drivers.
2. Hire one driver-maybe who has had a top-tier ride once before, but maybe lost that ride for one reason or another and maybe deserves another shot. Or someone with just below top tier equipment. They can also be a mentor to driver #3.
3. Hire a final driver--this one is a driver that has never had even a sniff at top notch equipment. In your opinion he (or she) just needs a chance to prove their talent level which you feel is far beyond what has been shown up to this point.
Who are your 3 drivers and why? Assume money is not an object, but Schatz is off limits because Tony will match any offer you make to keep him.

My first driver would be Tim Kaeding. I think he's easily one of the top 10 most talented sprint car drivers in the world when it comes to god given ability and he's a gasser which means he's fun to watch. In my second car, no doubt would be Jac. He'd have a ride for as long as he wants it and my only requirement would be for him to gas the shit out of it and put on a show because no one does that better than the Wild Child. In my 3rd car, I'd hire Danny Dietrich. I think Danny has way too much talent to spend the entirety of his career racing in the minor leagues. I have no doubt that he has the talent to win and win a lot out on the road if he gets a good ride and a car owner who does what Gary Kauffman did and gives him plenty of time to develop. As much as I'd miss watching him here at home every weekend, I do hope that he gets an opportunity to drive for a quality World of Outlaws team while he's young because he has what it takes to be very good, maybe even great at that level.

1. Shane Stewart- Great and smart driver. Think hes the only driver close to dethroning Schatz, 10-15 wins in a year potential.
2. Danny Dietrich- Would get 5-10 wins in a year no doubt, Has potential to be something of this generations Rahmer.
3. Lucas Wolfe- Argument could be said that Zemco is a top notch ride but it hasnt been the case at times this year. Didnt really impress in his first Outlaw stint but has become a better driver since then. 2-5 wins in a year potential. Very consistent however.

Now this is a thread I can dig.
1. I'd have to go with Shane Stewart. He could give Donny a run in equal equipment, which will come over time with the LMR2. I could see a 15 win season.
2. Stevie Smith in a legitimate car on tour, even his current gig, would be potent and having two lethal mentors wouldn't hurt. He's been on tour, however not in the best equipment. Every time the WoO shows up in Central PA, he's the new Outlaw Killer with Freddie and Moon turning his wrenches.
3. A lot of folks think he's top notch right now, but his equipment could use an upgrade. Thats one reason that I decided on Sheldon Haudenschild. He's a great driver, born and raised to love this sport and grows hungrier for victory ever time he hits the track. He may trash some cars, but he will see alot of podiums.

Should follow up my own post with my 3 picks.
Thought about Sammy for his knowledge--but first he would actually have to talk to someone.
So I will go with:
1. Shane
2. Tim Kaeding
3. Josh Schneiderman--don't know why, but this guy impresses me the few times I get to see him run.

DISCLAIMER: I will not be including any current Outlaw drivers in my post. Let's assume that they will continue to run with their current teams. My alternates are drivers who would also be considered for the job. The drivers I've chosen would not necessarily get the nod over the alternates, they are just the three I chose to elaborate on.
1. Sammy - No better mentor in the sport, and can still win races. Having Sammy on your team will constantly keep you in the conversation. Any publicity is good publicity, and Sammy sure keeps people talking. I'm a little biased, but... ![wink](/images/Main/wink_100x100.gif)
Alternates - Dale Blaney, Stevie Smith, Terry McCarl
2. Bill Balog - The North Pole Nightmare is a driver I think could really excell given the opportunity. There would definitely be a learning curve when it comes to all of the new tracks he would be visiting, but over time I think he would become a top 5 points car on a yearly basis and contend for 5-10 wins a season.
Alternates - Justin Henderson, Danny Dietrich, Dusty Zomer
3. Sheldon Haudenschild - I've met Sheldon a few times and really like him. He's a nice guy, and has a huge amount of talent. He deserves a shot, and being the son of "The WILD CHILD" will certainly endear him to his fathers fans. The marketing potential is very good with young Haud. Sky is truly the limit
Alternates - James McFadden, Bryan Clauson, Brady Bacon
This was super fun! Now back to wishing I was a super rich Sprint Car driver/owner ![Smile](/images/Main/smile_100x100.gif)

If I had that kind of coin laying around, I wouldn't play the whole Outlaw deal of not giving the up and coming drivers a break. So, considering the wealth it would take to put three cars on tour fulltime, turning a profit is laughable even if I had top veterans in the seats. That being said....Driver #1, Texas driver Aaron Reutzel - He is the most improved driver over the past two seasons, he is driven and is a really hard charger. Driver #2, Missouri driver Jonathan Cornell - Jonathan is one of the hungriest, hard charging young drivers I have ever seen, he never gives up. Driver #3, Jordan Weaver - Yes, she is inexperienced but she is another hard charger and mark my words, if she hangs around, she will end up being the most successful female sprint car driver.

My seasoned driver. It would likely be either Dale Blaney or Danny Lasoski. Sammy won't do the full time gig anymore, but if he did I would pick him first.
My number two guy Aaron Pittman. In my opinion he is just as good as Schatz, for whatever reason though KKR hasn't been able to put the entire package together around him for the last few years. My alternate would be Joey Saldana.
My number three guy is a real tough pick. Aaron Reutzel is definitely a consideration. The kid could be absolutely lights out if given an opportunity. I will speak personally about two drivers I've personally watched this year. Danny Dietrich and Brent Marks. I make no illusion that we are going to lose one or both of them at some junction to either the Outlaws or the All-Stars here in Posse land. They are both just that good, I think they both raised some eyebrows on their Knoxville and Ohio tours. Out of those three I would most likely go with Brent Marks, but that is just a tough call.

This one is easy for me: Sammy Swindell, Justin Henderson and Sheldon Haudenschild. Now the hard part. Finding sponsors with enough desire to fund the operation so I can protect MY wealth. ;-)
