I think it is time for someone to take ownership of the icon URC.  We have the Club & the Company using the same icon. I think the icon should go the organization that has all the history and the records that go back 75yrs. Going into next season and seeing the icon on schedules & news releases should not be confusing to the fans.

This  whole  dispute  is  really  silly,  but your right  it is confusing to all concerned .I believe  this could have been worked out somehow , this split is not good for all drivers of URC . So far the URCOMPANY has more dates then URCLUB ,promoters maybe taking a wait an see attitude . Booking races on larger tracks may not help the product to produce better racing ?

Yeah, but the Club has a commitment from almost all the drivers and car owners that have run the Company the last few years.  BTW, the Company may have more official "dates," but so far I have yet to see one that isn't at a track that already runs 358's.

Just to clarify, I'm sure they will have a date or two at Grandview, but that is only because Bob Miller runs the Thunder on the Hill shows, and after what he pulled at that last two Fall Fest races many people are not happy with him.

Please tell me if I have this right.

Years ago the club voted to have it taken over and become a company. It had operated that way successfully for many years. Rising racing costs have seen car counts drop and now some competitors think the answer is to return to the same structure that wasn't working years ago,  try to gain race dates by cutting the purse and for what reason?

Can someone truly shed light on what made the competitors unhappy? (not just one or two,  but what is the story that is being told)

Splitting the group (although just because some teams have said they will race club dates,  I haven't seen where they said they won't race company dates,  and with  the club only having a couple of dates,  I think the majority will still attend company events ),  is in no one's interest.

It sure will be interesting.. Perhaps now is the time for one of them to change direction to wingless and capitalize on the growing interest in the east coast.

I like wingless racing as much as the next guy, but I wonder if there is that much interest in wingless on the East Coast as it is sometimes made out to be.

The Eastern Storm for USAC gets decent crowds, especially at Path Valley and Grandview, but not what the winged 410's get, and not even close to the Outlaw and Jersey Rush crowd at New Egypt with basically the same car counts.  However, that could also be because there is just more familiarity there with the drivers in the winged cars and the novelty of the speed at tracks that don't normally have 410's.

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with the self-starting wingless cars that New Egypt and Accord are trying to run this year and if they take away cars from the 305's.  I know the URCompany was talking about running some wingless shows in the future, but that was before the stuff began with the Club, so I don't know what happened to those plans.  I just wonder how guys are willing to take the wing off and give it a shot, but would probably be fun to watch.
