Preliminary NSL Schedule Released!

Windom, MN (November 11, 2014) – The preliminary schedule for the National Sprint League founded by Tod Quiring of Big Game Treestands has been released.  Events are still being added to the current 20+ race schedule.  The NSL boasts a $350,000 point fund for its teams.

Four dates at the “Sprint Car Capital of the World”, Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, highlight the schedule.  Other big events are already a part of the NSL schedule, including the Front Row Challenge at the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the Jackson Nationals in Jackson, Minnesota and the Jerry Richert Memorial at Cedar Lake Speedway near New Richmond, Wisconsin, co-sanctioned with the IRA.  Several other events with increased purses will be announced as the 2015 season looms closer.

Phil and Ryan Durst of Durst Motorplex have stepped up, offering a $20,000 bonus to a driver who can sweep events at the Eagle Raceway on May 8 and the Knoxville Raceway on May 9.

Four big races are also slated for Huset’s Speedway in Brandon, South Dakota, including a $10,000 to win event in September.  Jackson Speedway will host four events, and the I-80 Speedway near Greenwood, Nebraska has three planned.  Other specials will be held at the Park Jefferson International Speedway in Jefferson, South Dakota, Crawford County Speedway in Denison, Iowa, Clay County Speedway in Spencer, Iowa and Randolph County Raceway in Moberly, Missouri.

More great events are currently in the works, and more announcements are on the way concerning those already on the schedule!

The current schedule for the National Sprint League will be available at our Facebook page.  It will be updated frequently, so check back often!  Our website is currently under construction.

I like the choice of Randolph Country Raceway in Moberly. That has been an awesome track for the 360s the past few years.

Really was hoping to see 34 Raceway for at least a date, if not two. Hopefully the TBAs might be there. A MOWA/NSL shootout would be perfect at 34.

Was really crossing my fingers for a Lee County Speedway date too - love 410s on that track and they put on an awesome show.

NSL would be huge in Southeast Iowa, hopefully everyone involved can come to terms on this.

The April 11 date this year was a MOWA show at 34, I agree it would be a great show for a NSL/MOWA event.

The April tba show would be great at 34 raceway in Burlington as a co promotion with MOWA! Madsen, Brown, The Big Game car, the BWW car, and a few other Knoxville regulars usually run that show anyway. If NSL is racing somewhere else that night it will hurt that MOWA show by taking several good cars away. Which is something the NSL says they do not want to do.

Looks like Rock Rapids Iowa will be added to the schedule also per the NSL Facebook page.

Not crazy about the Fall Brawl being pushed clear back into the first weekend in October. Weather can get real iffy that time of year. 3rd weekend in September was perfect. It needs to stay there.

I am more than excited for this series to get going. Awesome preliminary schedule and it's not stepping on any toes like Knoxville or Huset's. I really hope our local drivers follow it and make it a success from the get-go. So many different types of tracks for drivers to show their skills. I can't wait.

Agreed! I'd love to see a co MOWA/NSL race at 34.

Friday September 11, the night before the Jerry Richert Sr. Memorial.  My guess would be Northern Nationals as IRA has been appearing there as part of the Northern Nationals for years.  Aside from that my guesses on seeing them this far north have all been fairly close.  I expected that Jackson would come through for a few races as well and they have.  I can't really see anything else that would fit our schedules up here in the northland without butting up against Knoxville's weekly show.  It's a good schedule, 99% of it is further than I dare drive my old mini van but a good schedule nevertheless.  wink

Couple of thoughts:

- I like that they are racing at Moberly, Mo.   As someone else said, 410's on that track will be great.

- Concerned about the seven hour drive to get from Jackson, Mn to Moberly, Mo in one day.   Seems to be a lot of travel espically for the third race that weekend.

- Intesesting that they have 1 co-sanctioned show with the IRA.   I thought that we would have seen a lot more or none at all.

_ Disappointed that neither US-36 or Lakeside don't have a show.   It would seem that a show in the Kansas City market would have made a lot of sense.   Espically with it being home to Brian Brown.

- Eagle Pit Shack guy owes me an adult beverage.   I knew that they would start thier season in April.
