I gotta say...I think you have surpassed the ridiculous post threshold...but here it goes:

believe it or not, many of the folks in our group are willing to pay MORE at the gate for less screwing around (wrecking support divisions / fireworks / kids bike races / t shirt rubber band launches) because we do more on any given weekend than sit at the races and stir through a cooler of canned beer.

so...if what you have in mind is sending me $5 - go ahead...if you want to make it look like the night is "worth" more because you have another gimmick up your sleeve that is nothing more than fiddle f#cking around, I might send you $5 and go to a different track that night.

My thoughts exactly! Could not have said it any better.

I  cannot  believe  these   responses  to a   simple question  ?  I  DON'T KNOW what   you think of me  or what  I do to you to for such replies  . I  am just  a  devoted    fan  with maybe  alot of passion  for  the sport  or  one who really   want's  to help   fans   to save  before , after  or just  going  to your favorite  racing event . Don't   worry  I will  know longer  subject  you to my  opinion's  or knowledge  of racing  . It is obvious  you don't like to hear  other  person's  opinions  or thoughts .Yes ,  I have  strong  opinions  regarding  various matters  pertaining  to  racing but it was  always  my intention  to  listen and just maybe  improve  your racing  experiences . Unfortunately  there  not  enough  tracks , promoters , sanctioning  groups  that  really  care  about you , just  give you only  enough to satisfy  you . As  I said  I only  wanted  your thoughts  nothing more .   Thanks

My thoughts are about the same as BigRightRear.  I would rather pay more than cut the show quality.

I know people always think because the ticket prices go up therefore the purse should increase.....yada yada yada

The increasing ticket prices are set on a delicate balance of enough people for the show to pay the bill and actually paying the bill.  Supply and demand.   I know a lot of folks like to cut down the promoters, track owners, sanctioning bodies and teams BUT....I wouldn't take on any one of those jobs right now.  Fans screaming for lower ticket prices and bigger purses.  Drivers screaming for bigger purses.  Insurance companies doubling the track owner's premiums on a yearly basis.  High risk to reward ratio.  I would gladly pay a higher ticket price for superior racing, purses, car counts etc.  I just know the stands would thin out almost contradicting the hight ticket costs.

So no-I'm not interested in saving a little money going to the races.  Thanks for asking though.

Very true egras. Today fans seem to get pissed if they think a promoter makes money. They think every spare penny should be put in the purse.

I would gladly pay $25 per night for a general admision ticket to Knoxville evey Saturday night. I think the show is well worth it. And I would be happy to pay an extra $10-15 at most any other 410 show if they would leave out the mod & stock car support classes.

Since you're into asking questions, I have one for you. What is the point of all of this? You seem to want to gather all of this information from sprint car fans but for what purpose? Do you own or promote a race track? Are you starting a series? Are you in anyway affiliated with anything or are you just aimlessly gathering these opinions on a message board? If you're not going to put any of this information you're gathering into practice then just what the hell do you think you're going to accomplish by engaging in the same repetitive discussions on a messageboard? And please, for the good of all humanity, change whatever it is you have going on with your space bar.

I'm with Oswald here.    I went to the Chili Bowl, four ASCS National races at Devils Bowl, the WoO two day show at Devils Bowl, and the Knoxville Nationals.    I spent anywhere from $25 a show to $45 a show and was happy to do it.    Racing sucks in the Dallas area.    I could go to ASCS regional events at other tracks in the area.   It would cost me $15 and that's really not an issue.   The issue is I have to sit through seven other classes to see the sprints I came to see.    They could make the show free and give me a free hamburger and I still wouldn't drive across town to see it.

If I had Knoxville in my back yard I might be willing to pay more than $25 to see the weekly show.   80 sprints at one of the best facilities in the world would be well worth that money to me if I had anything like that in my area.

I would add that Knoxville costs me more than $45 a night when you figure in travel costs, meals, and hotel rooms.  I'm very happy to pay it though.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but like fiXXXer I'd like to know exactly what it is that you think you can do?   Your posts make you sound like a used car salesman?

I would also pay more for less support divisions (I'm looking at you modifieds), and less jacking around. It's funny how when threatening weather is approaching how fast a track can get a show in.

I'm just asking him what his deal is. He posts these questionare style threads wanting all this fan input but he never says what his ultimate goal is and how he aims to accomplish it. Obviously he wants to know all of this stuff for a reason. Is it because he's a promoter? Is he starting a new series based on fan input or starting a fan club? Perhaps if he stated his goal and how he intends to accomplish what he's trying to do, people would take him more seriously and give him better feedback. I do appreciate that you think I could be a used car salesman lol. Perhaps I should give it a try. Sure as hell beats breaking my back for a living like I do now.

The guy is doing this as a joke, like 410James and the Cubic man I think.  Somebody should ask Jeff the Moderator of this board if this guy has more than one alias etc. and perhaps expose him.  On this same subject he should expose anyone that has more than one handle in this forum as I'm guessing there are many of these types as well.

Jeff, how's it going in Western Kansas and am I right or wrong?  Won't hurt these old feelings either way, lol.....

PS  One last thought, one handle per IP address and if you made it a name this place would get mighty quiet in a hurry which I guess the sponsors wouldn't be happy with, nevermind....

Sometimes there is a balance though of how much we die hards would pay and what a first timer would pay. To fill the stands and recruit new race fans raising the price is not the answer. I'd still go to Knoxville weekly for 25 bucks even though with a family of any size it takes most of the money you made on Friday away instantly once you buy some food to go with your tickets. At 15 bucks convincing someone to come isnt near as hard as 25. Filling the stands weekly and selling concessions will be better than high ticket prices. Someone who comes twice at 15 because of reasonably entertainment is better than only coming once because it was 25. JMO

I know who he is . He is not a promoter , car ownner , future series director or anything. Just a fan that has some funny ways about him. He has tried a few different fan club type things but nothing ever seems to grow after his first few attempts.
