Got my letter from the PAS for my season tickets. So to answer my own question about Turkey Night. It and the WoO show will be stand alone events and tickets. Thank you PAS for giving us a good deal on our season tickets. Every little bit helps. Can't wait. Randy.

OK, so you drive across state lines and if you are in a Prius it costs you $70-100 in fuel and you complain about $8 to park.  If you lived 5 miles away I could understand complaining about $8 to park because that is triple your fuel expenses.  Now if you get 4 friends to join you in the Prius I believe your parking expenses are about $1.67 each or so!

Sorry, had to speak my piece!!!

By the way, it cost me about $200 per race last year not including gas, admission, food etc. as that is about what I averaged sponsoring cars/owners in need!

By the way, what I spent pales in comparison to the car owners/drivers that spend way more than they should to give us a show to go and watch.

So anyone that wants to go to work and not get paid for your efforts I would suggest you open your own race tracks or field your own cars so others can go into the stands and watch you for free as that is apparently what it takes to make some happy!

This is what I find funny about comments like those made by him.

A business sets a price and either you decide to buy or not.  The only complaining that matters is the business owner if he loses money because the track will be NO MORE!  You have the choice to buy the product or not.  The business owner needs to decide what the balance is for his business to make his time worth along with the effort to provide the product.  Obviously, the Kazarians have found a balance that at least is acceptable for them to keep the doors open.  Are they getting rich or going poor because of Perris?  Not likely!  Is Mr. Bruce going to reap a windfall in his checking account by staying home or going broke because he has to pay $8 for parking?  Not likely, so why complain?

The fairgrounds bids out the control and security Of the parking. They also put a cap on the amount the security company can charge for parking and I'm sure they to take it to the limit at $8.00. We have all stated our dislikes about the cost before. This has nothing to do with the PAS. Im just glad I have a track close to home to watch bad ass sprint cars.

I'll agree that 8 dollars to park is a little high, but how do you think us racers feel,by the time we buy pit passes, a RR tire, fuel for the race car and hauler we're already out 5 to 7 hundred dollars and we haven't even unloaded the car yet! If you don't run in the top 4 you're not going to break even,it's no wonder why car counts are down, very few people can afford to absorb a loss like that week in and week out.

I guess what I'm getting at is,before you complain about having to spend a 50 to 200 dollars at the races, stop and think about the amount that the people giving you entertainment to watch and what they're spending, that might help to put it into perspective.

For me anyway, it's not about the money. When I say Perris isn't fan friendly, compared to most tracks over here, it's just not and I mean that literally.

Terry, I've been around this sport all my life and anyone, especialy these days, who gets into this game knows the score and to put it off in any way on the fans is just wrong. What I mean is most of us who have been around this sport know the sacrifices that are made to participate in it but when I bring someone new to the track, it's certainly not something I stress when I'm explaining things to em.

And hey, most true racers would be racing in someone's back yard with 10 people watching on a unsafe track if that's all they had.

Kenny,

I agree about Perris not being fan friendly and I know exactly for what reasons,I guess I was just trying to give fans a side by side comparison of the costs that are involved on both sides of the fence. Not everyone on here is a hardcore fan that knows the cost of running a car.

I've been around this sport my whole life as well, and just because people know the score getting into this doesn't make it right, that your in losing proposition from the get go and in no way am I putting anything off on the fans. I as well as you remember days where the costs of racing were probably about half as much as they're today and yet purses are less than they were 20yrs. ago and yet tracks and some people then want to complain that car counts are low, jeez I wonder why.

I personally think that some promotors have forgotten how to promote races to get more people in the stands, more people should mean cheaper prices for the fans for entry and food and more money for racers which would help car counts. A win win on both sides of the fence.
