Please  oh please quote me where im guilty of demagoguery.

Please oh please go away!

You obiously don't have an interest in Shark Racing, you are trying to gain support by arrousing emotion, therefore you are a demagogue.

Really?  Im trying to gain power n popularity? Your interjection of emotion got us to this?  I had an opinion and now suddenly that makes me a demagogue. God bless America and you.

Um no, I made a rational argument, you made it personal.

No he didnt. He made an analogy (truck story) and you became emotional with your response. Coming on a message board an asking for $$$$ is in poor taste. If you need to resort to such tactics, the following should be considered: A) Probably racing on the road so far away from home with any sanctioning body isnt a wise decision B) Get a job to afford it or C) Get a Sugar Daddy aka Sponsor to finance the operation. Coming on here before the season starts asking for money isnt a good start for these teams.

He also talked about his buisness and personal sacrifice. I simply stated that we all have a choice.

Most race teams seek at least some kind of support. For those of you who haven't already, I would encourage you to check out the link. http://www.gofundme.com/5u36ho

This message board is so hypocritical. On one hand we complain about the NASCAR funded mega teams and how they're bad for the sport; on the other we crucify the little guy for trying to compete. Suggesting that a "sugar daddy" is more nobel than requesting voluntary race fan support is complete nonsense!

Seeking out and securing a "Sponsor", my meaning for "Sugad Daddy", to fund your "dream" is less noble than coming on a message board pandering the race fan for $$$? Sorry, but that is a complete joke. The part about running his business and never asking for a dime to fudn his operation is also an analogy.

I saw no harm in what the Shark team was trying to do. I guess them having a yearly fundraiser is TABOO TO? I Guess what they say about PA having the best fans in the country is true, because we are willing to help our race teams out. From what I've read here that doesnt seem to be the case elsewhere around the country. Pretty bad you chase them off and they remove their post. They more and likely posted not realizing other fans across the country are not as willing to help someone fulfill a dream. And you assholes chase them off.

Who cares if they come on here and ask for money. Booo whooo so they tried seeing if someone would donate money to their race team. There are a lot of website out there like indigogo.com that help support independent opperations such as bands, and small business' without getting nothing in return sometimes. This guy has done more for our sport than a lot of us and he was just simply asking a question and all these rude people that are on here have to spit out their negative opinions as always. The same people that will probably complain about car counts and underfunded teams later this season. I never a bad thing to ask a question because usually the worst answer you get is no. On here you get a no and an attack on your character on how your request is in poor taste.

all they did was ask you to vote to help them win a contest....they didn't ask for anyone to take money out of thier own pocket and give it to them.

I've got a question . Would any of us ( Including myself) made as big a deal out of this and gotten so emotionally catty wampuss if the start of this thread had started out ....

Hello my name is John Smith from jerkdick Kansas.  I've always wanted to race sprint cars but can't afford to. So.... if you will send me enough money  I can achieve my dreams.

Think about it for a second before u make a snap response .

Maybe I wouldn't have even commented

Maybe u wouldn't have called me an asshole

It is a brazen way to seek dollars and sponsorships.....maybe it's a different way that has people upset.

i don't agree with that way, personally. I would think that by now funding would be in place and if it hasn't been, well that's a issue. I hope the team makes if though.

I agree also. My reasoning may be different tho. I am from central pa. This was the talk of the town.... Bobby hitting the road with the kids. Made for great conversation , photo ops, print media and all the other attention just to hear " oh by the way we're gonna need help to do this"  at the last minute, per say. Just feel it was handled un-professionally. Just my opinion. There is not a team here that doesn't dream of the road and running with the best, imagine if they all came on the message boards asking for others to fund it.

Now here is a good question to debate : The World of Outlaws have always been considered the "Best of the Best"

How desperate do they look that they wouldn't be able to sign 12 top flight teams that they accepted both Logan and Jacobs application?  Maybe on a real stretch you could convince me that Logans few 410 wins should qualify him but I don't see it. How does Jacob qualify as " best of the best" and get a contracted spot with maybe 10 or so starts in a 410 and 0 wins ?  I guess it's no longer the " superhero's" of the sport. Would you go pay $35.00-40.00 a ticket to see 12 drivers with the collective resume' they have.If your honest with yourself, you know you wouldn't.  You pay that for the superstars of the sport.

Agree 100%. I don't think either of them have the credentials yet to be considered in the top tier.

I'm from pa also, I make trips to Lincoln and the Grove a couple times a year. Thought they would to a regional schedule first to test the waters but they just like to jump in! Good luck to them.

They are not superheroes of the sport YET, but how do you expect them to get to that point? They have the right to go out on the road and see how they do.  No one becomes a superstar by racing weekly, that's what going out on the road is all about, seeing new tracks, tougher competition etc, it potentially could turn either one of these kids into superstars and at the very least, if they don't make it, when they come back to race locally they will be that much better from the outlaw experience and probably put on a hell of a show and become a local superstar.  As far as the money goes, I would assume they have enough funds to at least start the year off in Florida and see how it goes, but as hard as it is to get the corporate sponsor why not think outside the box to aquire additional funds? I hope they do make it because with Steve on his last year, Sammy soon to be done, dollansky out of a ride, kemenah off the your, gravel off the tour, I sure as hell wouldn't pay 35-40 bucks to watch 7-8 "superstars" so why not encourage more people to try it out on the road and see what happens.

I saw recently where fans of Dave Darland were helping out $$-wise with his Daytona ARCA effort.  I saw where Dave went down and tested - don't know how the fan support $$ effort went.

Can I contribute to an effort to buy Shatz a late model/modifed/street stock/skateboard/scooter - anything to keep him from winning so much? For the Schatz fans, just kidding - don't shoot!!
