Weather permitting the second round of the Ocean Sprints
presented by Taco Bravo sprint car series will take to the track at Ocean Speedway this Friday
night. That opens up the possibility of the fast time qualifier going home with
a very large payday due to the addition of the Nobel Construction “Back Row Challenge”.
The Ray Sheidts Electric fast time qualifier will have the option at every Taco
Bravo event this season to elect to start at the rear of the main event field,
and if they can then work their way to the lead and win the main event they
will not only take home $1500 for winning the race, but an additional $1000
from Nobel Construction and an additional $500 from Ocean Speedway. Add to that
the $100 award for being fast time and automatically earning the DDNi hard
charger award of $100 and they will have pocketed $3200.00
for their efforts. By the way, promoter John Prentice will also award an extra
10 championship points to the “Back Row Challenge” winner making it not only
financially beneficial, but also adding a points advantage.
Last week a heavy track that was not conducive to passing
prevented Brad Furr from taking the challenge. This week Prentice says he is
doing everything he can to provide a racy track that will provide plenty of
passing and competition.
So hopefully this week we can separate the men from the boys
and see just who is up for the challenge!
to indy and beyond!!
