Jeremy, I would love to visit my old stomping grounds. Go South Iredell Vikings! Been telling my buddies I've been waiting to come visit. They have both moved away from Mooresville, they said it has become a total zoo. But if I ever do get back I will take you up on your offer. See you in Indy?

It is true that the Ford head flows much better than the Chevy, just call Weld Tech if you doubt it.

So my new concern that our heroes haven't been giving us their best effort for the last couple decades might actually be completely justified? I couldn't even sleep last night. This could be just the tip of the iceburg. Its hard to tell what other cool superior faster equipment we are missing due to the apparent blinders on almost everyone in sprint car racing. Thanksgiving is going to be very difficult this year!

I used to tell dad he was crazy when he would say sprint car guys will drive their chev straight to the back and then to the poor house while saying how supeior and inexspensive it is the whole trip. I might have to apologize.

ever notice how it's always the motor that won and the driver gets no credit. Jeremy, congrats on all the acomplishments your RY powered teams have had this season, it takes a good motor, good equipment, good set up and a great driver to win, its not just the motor as all the RY Ford haters seem to imply. My good friends Gerald and Johnn have ran Fords for years and have also had the rules changed many times beacuse of the "Fords have a advantage", yet the same people that complain of the advantage never jump ship from their chevy to the Ford to take advantage of the so called Ford advantage . I can't help but notice the lack of post on the forums relating to how the Chevys motor is why so and so won the race yet it's the motor when a Ford wins. With that being said i will leave you with a quote from my dear friend Gerald, " if I wanted to

be as fast as the Chevy guys I'd build a Chevy just like theirs, but I want to go faster". Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!! Curt

The intake port on the Ford flows 2-3 cfm better then the Chevy out of the box. Legally worked over they flow the same. The exhaust port on the Chevy flows better in every form then the Ford. Brodix did a good job of equalizing the two heads. The guys at Brodix are no dumbies. The power curve of a Ford and Chevy are completely differant even with similar injectors and the same cam. If anyone wants a Chevy, just give us a call! Yes, we do them too..... The guys and girl racing these engines have done a great job this year. Thanks to all of the teams! Every one at Roush Yates take a lot of pride in these engines. We have the honor of serving race teams from all corners of the earth and ever form of motorsport (even monster trucks). If any of you Hoseheads guys are in the Mooresville NC, send me a PM and I'll show you around. Even you Wesmar! Smile

Jeremy,

Engine costs are completely out of control. A 360 that costs $40,000 dollars (or more) completely defeats the purpose of the ASCS head.

I think it's fair to say that NASCAR money and $40,000 dollar engines do not represent the vision Emmett developed in the 90's.

I used to wear myself out trying to defend the ASCS, but the ASCS got greedy and they got lazy and they have allowed engine prices to sky rocket. Even worse, the ASCS lacks the courage needed to address the problem.

The 305 class is growing like crazy, thanks in part to your $40,000 dollar power plant! The 305 rules are another train wreck in the making, but my point is this; racers are seeking a 360 alternative.

I'm not suggesting that this is Roush Yates fault, but your product is adding fuel to the fire.

Change is inevitable. Real change is on the horizon. Emmett can stop and address the cost issue now, or the market will eventually address the issue for him. We will soon be in "correction" territory...

Just mandate exact replicas of a 265 right from a 55 Nomad from the air cleaner to the oil pan. No synthetic oil either. No Y block Fords either since they won about 3 times as much in 57 as the sbc you now worship and insist upon.

I don't worship sprint car engines.

It's not about Ford or Chevy, it's about cost. The Chevy's cost too much too!

I realize that racing is expensive, not everyone can afford it, but the existing ASCS platform (Ford or Chevy) is now a limiting factor. That's it and that's all.

Emmett can figure out how to reduce costs and broaden his base, or he can watch his "universal" evaporate.

You do the math!

Minthess,

You are trying to defend Ford's right to compete, I'm trying to draw attention to the cost deficit. We have different agendas...

Its almost like your living the movie National Treasure Minthess. Keep pushing forward in your Ford research, I have a feeling your going to find this conspiracy goes all the way to the top! Losing sleep over this, I really hope your not serious.

does this mean ASCS will not permit an non chevy engine to turn more RPMs than the chevy is comfortable with?

might as well cut slots into the track and put governors on them...huh?

So I have a question. Does Emmett get money on every ascs 360 motor made and sold? Cause that sure as hell is what it sounds like. If you don't like ascs go run ocrs usus a local track just go somewhere else. We don't like ascs so we left but I know Emmett can't control everything in ascs he is 1 old man with a huge series
