3-Nights of Action for Colby / F&F Racing Shows Strength in Civil War Action!

By Gary Costa

Chico, CA – May 30, 2007…The F&F Racing team and Colby Wiesz, who would race three times this weekend, were loaded for bear, and ready for another all out assault for two Civil War races and where fans would see Colby race three consecutive races, with a Saturday Chico showing in his own Tony Borello powered Maxim. Would a win be in the cards for F&F Racing and “The Ice Man” this weekend? Let’s find out!

Race #1-Friday night, it was round-3 for the Hoosier Racing Tires Sprint car Civil War Series winged 360 Sprint cars at Marysville Raceway Park. In qualifications, the Alan Bradway tuned, Tony Borello powered F&F Racing, Kaeding Performance, Maxim Chassis No. x1 qualified 5th quick out of the 37-cars in attendance. In Heat-1, Colby finished 4th, which sent him directly into the main event. In the main event, “The Ice Man” lined up in the 3rd row, on the racy surface, and was his consistent self, as the man from Colfax stayed out of trouble and flashed under the checkered flag in the 4th spot.

Race #2-The next night, and a new set of tear offs on the helmet, “The Ice Man” traveled on “down-the-road” to Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico to do battle with 35 more winged Sprint cars that were in attendance. He busted out the family owned Wiesz No. 21 Sprint car for more 360 “elbows up” action. There would be no qualifying this evening as the pill draw was being utilized this evening. In Heat-3, Colby transferred right into the main event, via his 4th place finish. “The Ice Man”, did a great job the second consecutive night, and wheeled the Maxim around the speedway to a respectable 8th place finish in the main event.

Race #3-We were at Silver Dollar Speedway again, this time it was for round-4 of the Civil War Series. Colby was “back in the saddle” of the Alan Bradway & Steve Tuccelli owned Maxim. This night there was an unbelievable 47-winged Sprint cars in attendance. Colby would be the 20th Sprint car that was pushed out to qualify and 2-balls out laps later, we timed in the 3rd position. In his heat, he again, brought the car home 4th in his heat. This night, team F&F and Colby would not be denied. At the drop of the green, Colby could “feel” that Alan massaged the Maxim to perfection, and put the Borello bullet to work. When the checkers fell, Colby brought home the win, and our first Civil War win this season!

How does it feel to get your first Civil War win this year! “Absolutely excellent! It seems like they get tougher and tougher each year. It’s always good to win at Chico. We ran good at Marysville. The last half of the race, the track widened out, and it was elbows up, and there was some serious passing going on. The whole weekend was great, and the thing was just dialed in perfect.

Comin’ Atcha! Race fans, Colby will be in his own car this weekend. He will be at the Marysville Raceway Park trying to win the Mel Hall Memorial.

“The Ice Man” Responds! “Thanks, Steve! Alan had the car dialed in all weekend. The team worked hard, and everything just worked out perfect. Tony Borello builds a great motor, and the team got the power into the race track. I had everything that I needed to get the job done. I would also like to thank Steve Cox and Steve LaMothe for letting us use your photos; all of us at F&F Racing appreciate them immensely.”

Colby Wiesz and F&F Racing would like to thank all of those who made it by the trailer this past weekend. We would also like to thank all of our sponsors, marketing partners and friends.
