Honestly, I'll root for him but...it took him a while to get comfortable at Linky and the Grove. And last time he went off the porch at Charlotte he struggled.
I watch him weekly and I'll be there in August, sorry but I'm going with the D Main.
I wish him and team the best of luck though. He'll be on the wall on the gas, that's for sure. And hey all it takes is a good qualifying effort and you have yourself a good weekend.

the d-main unfortunatly could be renamed the PA-main, it seems like a lot of teams struggle at knoxville...and if any knoxville teams would get of the iowa porch it would probably be the IA-main at the Kings royal..
outside of Stevie Smith, and Greg Hodnett who else from PA has alot of success at Knoxville? i know Doug esh, Fred Rahmer, Ed Lynch jr, Lance Dewease have all struggled to get in the A at knoxville, i always want to see the outsiders (non-WoO) guys make the A

Yeah last year we had two in the D, Henderson and Rahmer.
Stevie has been a lock for the A the last two years in the 1z, but this year has been dreadful for that team. For example, last night they failed to make the feature at a weekly Grove show.
Hodnett has also been a lock when he was in the 22, but that team is now defunct and he is in a new ride. Recently, they've been hot, but finishing the race is a problem for that car. They've been quick, but still don't have a time trial setup down and as you know that's a tad important at Nationals.
If you are looking for a PA local to make the A this year, look no further than adopted Posse member Daryn Pittman. They haven't been as fast this year, but still very respectable.
Also, it's been a while since Rahmer put it in the feature, but I think he could redeem himself this year. He's been very fast all season and is on his way to winning PA Speedweek.
I still think Hodnett and Stevie still have chances to make the feature though. Walker could also make some noise, he's gotten comfortable in PA in the 17 and has been fast just battling bad luck. If everything goes right, he could very well put it in the feature.

Forgot about Dewease, but it's the same old Dewease every year. He can't qualify to save his life, so unless he wins the Prelim A, he's going to have quite a difficult time putting it in the feature.
Henderson will need everything to go right to put together a feature run, it's possible though - he gets around Knoxville good.
Ed Lynch isn't considered Posse, but he always has a solid week out there. Had he not gotten taken out last year, he would have been in the feature.
Keep an eye out for Lernerville product, Danny Holtgraver, he may turn some heads.

None of the drivers you listed are planning on heading out. However, young drivers Brent Marks and Adam Wilt are considering heading out in August. Aaron Ott actually goes to Nationals every year as a spectator, but has yet to bring the car out.
The only real surprise is that Monteith is heading out.

He went out in 2006 I think.
He finished in the E. I doubt they will go back, they already run a scaled-back schedule.

Not putting the purse down at all because I know the Nationals purse in amazing. But I remember Erdley saying that the team could race half the season locally for what they spent in one week going to the Nationals. And that was before gas was all but $4 a gallon.

Yeah I hear the E Main purse isn't very rewarding
It's obvious the trip out there costs a small fortune, but there are many positives to it as well.
