|
i was thinking of having one welded onto my cage for extra safety! i have a standard cage .. is this a good idea or a bad idea? please let me know your opinions on them!

anything that makes you feel safer, they help keeping the front end of another car from getting in in to your car. we were glad to use side cage safety bars as another car hit hard enougth that we had to have bar cut out and replaced

This is an item that we put on almost every Midget that we raced. At one time it was believed that 2" above the drivers head was a safe place to put the top of the cage. That was until a scientific study showed that the neck can stretch 6". I think that 6" is now the suggested height for USAC cars, but don't quote me on that. Anyway, the more room you have the better when it comes to the brain pan. I would certainly do it if height is an issue....Good luck
