Don't care for the guy, but he is good. He's won alot of races right at the end. He hunted down Nietzel and blew by him on the high side to win the 30 lap event. Pretty good show. I wish the 360's would stay at home. They bring nothing to the show other than getting in the way.
Alot of crashes due to ruts in the track. Considering the way the weather has been, it was good to see a decent show.
I believe it was Kertcher who also had fast time, followed by Nietzel and then Reinke. Phillip Mock really got screwed over when he was about 6th and running really well and unfortunately got trapped behing the then leading Scott Biertzer who had gotten a flat tire. Mock had no where to go other then the infield as every one else was able to stay on the track and pass him. He went from about 6th to about 15th in a matter of a couple of seconds.
The new announcer really sucks. He really doesn't have a clue. He tries to improvise with what he thinks is relating to the "new" generation. Terrible. I'll bet Sinclair after a while was like "shut the fuck up". I know we were.
3.25 for a beer? yeah right. I'll just keep smuggling in.

First off, who are you to say the 360's were in the way?
The #35 of Ben Schmidt was passing 410's more often than not.
Came from 7th to 4th in B Main after passing several "good" 410 drivers and then was up to 10th in feature until shifter knob broke.
So before you run your mouth, get your information straight.

The results on the IRA's website that I'm guessing you read are from last seasons finale. Last nights results haven't been posted yet. Kertscher did, in fact, win last night.
As far as the 360's go...
How were they in the way? And how many of them were there? As an earlier poster said, the 35 car raced his way into the A by passing several 410's. I'm pretty sure there wasn't one caution on behalf of the handfull of 360's that showed last night.
Considering it cost $25 per car load of people to get in, I'm not gonna complain about paying $3.25 for a beer. Was great to be at the track again...finally!

Where'd you find that? I looked here on their hoseheads site and at irasprints.com and couldn't find anything. I'm not sure if that is even their main website anymore because it's very generic and no real menu to find anything current.
Maybe someone that handles their press will enlighten us before Wednesday. I don't think they really want Strange Wings doing their pr work for them. But thanks Strange for taking a couple minutes and informing us about the top two and actually giving a little insight into a couple other competitors misfortunes, not just a list of numbers. Did I just thank Strange Wings? I need some caffein.
IRA needs someone like Bill W. Bill does a fantastic job in informing the racing community in a professional, timely manner.

Haven't seen it myself, but they said last night that the IRA is on Facebook with updates. Another thing they might consider is a Twitter account. Was following the WoO show on my Blackberry from the stands and was getting lineups, results, and other tidbits all night long.
A few other things from last night...
27 sprint cars signed in. Kertscher had fast time. Hanei(sp?) got upside-down in qualifying, but made it back for the B and A-mains. Goeden, and Hafemann also got upside-down in their heats. I know 10v and 80k won their heats. Can't remember the third winner.
Biertzer led early in the A, and got together with Balog while racing for the lead in lapped traffic. Balog got upside down, and after the restart, Biertzer pulled into the infield. Two other red flags flew mid-race for Todd King and Kris Spitz, who both flipped the cars on the backstretch. Neitel ultimately inherited the lead and held it til the last corner when Kertscher went around him on the top. They were side-by-side making contact at the line. Neitzel went spinning and 80k took the win by inches. Reinke, who missed qualifying with mechanical problems, came from 17th to finish 3rd.

Sounds like you IRA fans got WAY more bang for your buck than we did at Knoxville last night. I have no idea what happened as it hasn't been dry and sunny for days on end (quite the opposite) yet the track was just plain gone half way thru 360 qualifying. The 360 & 410 A's were like a prescription for Ambient.

I think I could have gotten my Grand Am to at least 4th in that B-main. That was more like an E-main. Referring back to the announcer, He stated that all you have to do is stay out of trouble and you'll get a decent finish. Everyone crashed in front of him, so yeah, I imagine he did get up to 10th. How many cars were in the race at that time that hadn't already crashed? So, wow, he was the "class" of the 360's and a couple of really slow 410's. INFO straight there, BRETT!

"Can't remember the third winner". Lol.. Maybe you should lay off the $3.25 beers. Mock won the third heat.

Michael 98 was doing it for some of the regional races from Oshkosh down to Wilmot. Haven't heard from him for a while. Really hope he's doing well.
I'd do a hell of a job as PR, writer, or editor. I should look into that. You know you'd get entertaining, accurate, timely, unbiased information and results. Surprised I haven't been sought out for that.

I didn't do anything to piss anyone off. I maybe am a little guilty of trying to get the press person to think about doing their job a little better and write an insightful article about a race that sounds to have been a very good one.
The article that is on their website now is very well written and makes me regret my decision not to drive the 10 miles to see the show. That was the point I was trying to make in a round about way. Write articles that are positive, informative, exciting, and create enough interest again to make a guy like me want to go back and attend some races again.
Show people what they are missing and stir up the bug inside of them to come out and spend some money. Show people you can run a race and get their butts out of the seats at 10:30 not 12:30. I have always preached to deaf ears that I have never heard anybody complain the race got over too early. Besides, get the race over early enough to get the fans in the pits to meet the drivers. Get little Johnny to sit in a race car and he'll bring his parents back next time again too....Ask McDonalds how that works. In an inpersonal world you need to make a personal connection with the fans. Nascar doesn't have the best racing but they sure know how to showcase their drivers personalities and make it a show.

At least you saw at least ONE pass for the lead.....2 A features ... 0 pass for the lead in 35 laps. Nothing against R. Hall or Lasoski .... but neither feature had the fans on the 'edge of their seat' .... in fact ... several fans had to be shook awake by the clean up crew when they cleaned the grandstands after the 410 A. (j.k.)
