Hope TMAC gets some sponsors, but for me it's a tough sell to my bosses at work.

For LESS $$$, the company can sponsor a night at the track (and get sponsor plugs on the PA) and receive either 16 suite tickets or 50 grandstand tickets to distribute to employees and customers. (Plus by sponsoring just the track, you don't lose potential customers due to other unforseen occurances (driver A runs into driver B and crashes them for example)

It's a tough sell the way the economy is anyway, but for less $$$, my company would get more exposure (Raceway has ads in the local and regional newspapers and on TV) and more opportunities for my employees to attend the races at no additional costs.

I realize that racing is EXPENSIVE, but $3000 for a 1 night sponsorship seems awful high to me (that means that barring a crash) as Terry would have virtually no $$ invested in the night of racing as the sponsor would be paying for it all (I've heard from many that it costs ~$1500 per night to roll the car out of the trailer when you break down engine refresh costs, maintenance, tires). From what I read in his proposal, if he lines up a Primary, a Secondary, and small front wing sponsor for the same night, that's $5250.

I realize that this is his livelihood, but for that amount of $$, some cars would make you their primary sponsor for the SEASON @ Knoxville (especially in the 360 and 305 classes).

Looks like an awful tough sell to me, but I'm sure he'll land a few throughout the season.

I like the concept and I wish T-Mac success. The concept may bring a "retro" feel to the overbudgeted modern racing. Imagine sponsors on the wing such as; "Pete's Chevron Gas and Service", "Strikes and Spares Bowling Lanes". Granted the ROI may not be there, there may be more benefits to other forms of monetary involvement, but if I owned a small business I would jump to have my name of a big named car and driver for one night. The 8 x 10 glossy would be in the front lobby.

It looks like a good idea to me.
