A great article that is long overdue. Please keep writing on this topic until some sensibility kicks in.

One thing about Mr. Grant, is he always has to act, and talk like he knows more than the next person. Rather than discuss a topic, he does exactly what he has done here. Just his style, please forgive him.
In a nutshell, the article is about the cost of racing. Not sure why Hawker thinks it is a ground breaking artcle, as many have been saying the same things for years now, and it continues to get worse.
I will say one thing about the purse though. Sullivan nailed it towards the end of the article.
"Over the years I have to endless conversations about USAC hasn't raised the purse in X amount of years, and then three days later have witnessed the same driver who was holding court run a brand Z race for less money."
This happens everywhere, with every series. How can a sanctioning body seriously approach a track about a pruse increase when the drivers are willing to race for less money at a local level, or with a different sanctioing body?

LOL, really? "Always has to act and talk like he knows more than the next person". No, I have to disagree with you there. I know what I know, and the things that I DO know, I know damn well. So there is no reason to forgive because rather than lurk in the forums from my parent's basement and not offer anything other than the drivel such as what you've offered up here, I add relative discussion. So, Since it is painfully evident that you are not capable of figuring out that this was NOT a post to discuss a topic, but rather a public note of appreciation to a person who is well respected in sprint car and midget racing, that also reads this forum. Ground breaking? No, but he said a lot of things that people with the credibility that he has will not say outside of the discussions characterized in KO's article too. now, you'd better go upstairs, mama's got your TV dinner ready...

Hawker:
Did I read correctly you are going to be 'commuting' to Afghanistan for a 3 month assignment (on and then off?)
If so, best of luck to you and ALL individuals involved in the action or logistical support against the radical Islamic terrorists.
We hope you and all the others return safe and sound.

You read correct. The rotation is 90/30. Thanks for the concern, I head out on the 2nd and should be back for the Knoxville opener.
