Was wondering how many 2 barrell or Champ Sprint drivers would be interested in a Non-Wing race around this area???? I know there will be plenty of people that would love to watch it, but how many drivers would be interested in racing in it???

I would almost bet there would be a hell of allot more than you would think. I am already hearing some of the fans and drivers/owners talking, because the Champ Sprints has turned into ALMOST follow the leader after 3 or 4 laps. It seems to be locked down wide open and not much passing in the features. Allot of Champ Sprints got faster since the Super Sprints went away. With too many good Super Sprint parts on the market over the winter and still setting in shops all over Oklahoma. It is becoming more about horsepower than driver which is not a bad thing thats just the way that it is. So if a car starts on the first two rows its ALMOST a run away, and some of the guys that start on the back end up no better than mid pack. The days of starting tale back and winning in this class is ALMOST impossible.
Brill has a great idea with the economy sprints and they will probably grow to about 15 or 20 a race night by next season IMO. More horse power with the Champ Sprints Non Winged would be awesome...
Sorry David I hope I did not get on the hit list again lol...

Didn't they run two-barrell sprints at Creek last year where they ran them with wings and without wings on the same card?

I did not know how much the purse was I just like the idea of non wings. But hell it has went from 2 cars to 7 or so at 200 to win. I agree the 305's car count has grown and it will continue to grow as well.
Maybe if I could get off night shift my attitude would be better. It sure sucks being at work when all you guys are at the track...

Randy I know what you mean. I worked the night shift for 25 years out there at GM. Maybe if Brill starts getting more of these cars he will pay more

OK guys I am trying to get some information gathered to try and get a Non-Wing 2 barrell race going. I am talking about one show right now and not a regular class at a track. Whats it going to take to get a show like that going??? I need feedback.

I haven't talked to Mark about it but I think they would be pretty close. The 305 might have the advantage because they are fuel injected

Well I do know that there is a non-wing car for Brill's that is have a motor worked on. Also, I slowly building mine up. So there is an additonal two cars for sure. I have heard rumblings of other cars out there as well.
I can not speak for the champ racers that I know but from talking to them in the past I think some of them would be more than willing.

There will be great interest in the race. A lot of it depends on where the race is held and how much the purse is. I can tell you one thing...that going into turn 1 on the start of the feature will be exciting. There will definitely be more people showing interest than actually showing up though. That's just the way it is. People will be all excited about it then realize that it's non-wing and their car can get torn up easily racing against a lot of other people who have never ran a non-winged car (I am one of those who have not.) Good luck, I think it would be cool!
