not a 3/8 track really, they are moving the front stretch away from the catch fence and taking the D shape out of it. Talked to a few on the guys running the graders they are using alot of the old track and putting some banking into it. It will be short of a 1/2 mile but still should be a fast track with a lot of improvements still to come

Hey chucky, to get put on the "actual" WoO schedule as the recently updated to, they(Clay County Fair) had/have to post a bond with the outlaws(last i knew anyway), which is guarantee money for the WoO to pay for them to come here. So if that still holds true, the fairboard would lose a chunk of change and those stingy b..tards won't do something like that. As for the shorting of the track, they want to do that so they can build a new motel off of the "ugly"convention center. Guess we'll all have to waite and see what develops, won't be too long and the fair schedule comes out.

sorry if i seemed like a jerk, its just that i know how great of a racing based town this is. i have lived here my entire life and know all the racers in this area and i also know how much people around the track like to bitch about dust. i guess they forget that the track was there before they were. as for posting a bond, i wouldnt be surprised if phil hurst pulled out of it anyway. if that happens, then look for him to collect all that lost money which could mean $12 to get into the fair. now wouldnt that get the old farts that live around here fired up. as a personal recommendation anyone planning to attend that show (if it happens) dont expect much more than follow the leader as it is a sand based track, which means that as soon as the tires spin the drivers cant see and neither can the fans. if anyone can argue that then i am game. remember this is just my opinion. i would love to see the outlaws come here even if it dont sound like it. i just know that this is a retirement town and the locals love to bitch about anything that disturbes their perfect little lives here. (like it is possible to have a life in this $hit hole)

they want to build a hotel there??? what a joke. that whole building is a joke a waste of space and a waste of money. if the hotel follows the size of which is the events center, then i guess that means it will be 5 rooms for 1 person in each room for $200 per night. in other words i am saying the events center is a rip off of a real building

Chucky I have spoken to 2 of the 3 people that have been trying to get the deal done, I have seen what they are intending on doing and I have spoken to a excativating company from the Spencer area that was contacted to do the work. One of the guys working on the deal is a motorcycle builder south of spencer, I have just recently met him as I am delivering parts to him at least 2x a week. Another actual invester i guess is from the Spirit Lake area and does Real Estate. I am not allowed to release names (which I really couldn't if I wanted to cause I am not sure to who is actually doing all the work or started it) til it actually gets announced. There was a contract signed with Dirt Motorsports with the contingency that the track meets the insurace companies agreement and that the bond be paid in full by June. So there are many factors that I see may stop the whole issue but there are plans that have been presented and the Hotel thing I heard was dropped because they will turn it into better parking for the fairgrounds first. Kinda like the Sioux Empire Fair in Sioux Falls

ok you said it 'insurance'. have you been around that track lately and taken a good look?? i honestly dont think there is enough time between now and september to get everything taken care of, just because of the simple fact and yes it is a fact that there is just too much. i dont want you to take it the wrong way pittroll but just dont get your hopes up and dont beleive evrything you hear. to much to do not enough time not on that old facility
