The way Tony and Kasey could REALLY help the sport of sprint car racing would be to field one extra car each, secretly put a local guy in them, and then have all the tracks advertise that Tony and kasey are racing in the WOO show.

The people who follow the sport and aren't idiots would know the real deal but the tracks could sell an extra 5000 general admission/S.R.O. tickets to all the NASCRAP autograph star seekers. Then the announcer could simply say "Sorry fans, due to their Nascrap commitments Smoke and Kasey had to leave immediately after the races were over."

5000 tickets at 20 bucks each is another 100 grand for the track to put back in the weekly show and a couple local guys got to show their skills to the industry in equal equipment...

Surely this could work, couldn't it????? hahahaha

Loose is when you hit the wall with the rear of the
car, tight is when you hit the wall with the front of
the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and
torque is how far you move the wall.

Darnall, a promoter would only do it once and the fans wouldn't come back. Most fans are smart enough to know a con....

So, are you guys saying that the Outlaws would be better without them?

So there are 16 cars following the Outlaws fulltime this year, right? And there are about 5 of those cars that are going to win the majority of the races, right? How is that different from when The Kinsers, Swindell, and Wolfgang won 70% of the WoO races races over a 8-10 year span?

I hope they dont go away, thats for sure. Would Saldana even have a ride? Would Darrah have ever gotten the chance? Maybe even Schatz's family money would have run dry by now. Who knows?

All i really know is that it takes lots of money to run a an Outlaw schedule. Thank god that people like Kahne and Stewart want to spend theres and there sponsers money on the greatest sport in the world, sprint car racing. Thank You, Thank You, Thaaannnk Yooooouuuuu!!!!!!!!!

Just my opinion

If these guys gave 2 shits about Sprint Car racing they would add their $ to the payout.

They could still fund the race teams. But the only way they can possibly help racing is to up the payout.

Well let me just say this crew chief..... Kasey has his name out and is promoting and putting on the 2 day race at Volunteer Speedway in bulls gap TN. Tony owns one of the most famous Dirt/WoO track in the entire world. The amount of money it takes to A keep the up keep at the track, to B, the amount of money it takes to get a WoO show scheduled and add that to the 4 or 5 nights eldora host the WoO, id say he gives his share back. Besides Tony and Kasey put there cars on the track to keep the WoO going i mean they own 25% of the regular cars, they sanction racing, own tracks, own USAC teams, have great facility's, hire a bunch of people to keep the program going. Not to mention all the special 410 and 360 races they attend to help promote. Plus the great prelude race tony runs at eldora. They give back so much to the dirt community. Look at everybody else who grew up running the dirt tracks in there days. Jeff gordon started in sprints and midgets, what does he give back??? NOTHING. Dave Blaney, i like him he is a nice guy, but he quits fielding WoO teams, he owns the Sharon Speedway in hartford Oh, but no more do they run WoO Sprint Races or All Stars, mainly just weekly shows and some WoO Late Model and ASCS 360 shows, the famous Sharon Nationals isnt even in existance anymore. Point and fact, guys like tony and kasey are true class act profesionals, they remember where they came from and they give back. Darrah might of never got his chance, saldana might not of been able to get back to his form he was accustom to. These guys are great for what they do and its nice to see the formal local dirt slingers of the world not forget where they came from and how they started their careers before making it big in the world of racing and give others driving/ job opportunities to carry on the same passion for dirt racing these guys had and still have today.

How quickly things are forgotten...

  • There have consistently been more full-time WOO teams the last few years than many years in past history.
  • A select few top drivers/teams dominated in the past as well. No different today.
  • It wasn't long ago that Tony and Kasey were being applauded for getting involved in the sport and giving "back to their roots".

Short Term: REAL GOOD FOR THE ENTIRE SPORT!

Long Term: Real good for TSR/KKR.

I think at first everyone was like YA! We're going to see all these sponsors and people are going to pay attention to the series's. Everything will be GREAT!

Now that this "haze" has started to wear off... We're seeing that those guys are running the costs up because they can. Those sponsors have stopped sponsoring the series and other drivers. They want to be associated with the guys causing all the buzz to get their names seen. So TSR/KKR are now getting the money where others aren't seeing it as much now. So they are able to do crazy things like putting a chassis on a rig and all this other stuff that costs major money that sponsors are paying the majority of and other drivers can't afford. (Not to mention the engine room at TSR. Like 30 motors just sitting around! CRAZY!)

My take is that it has just sped up the process of running this sport into the ground. It was bound to happen. There is no one to really blame because I think they way things have been going the last 10-15 years mixed in with a bad economy. Hopefully things turn around and a lot more people that love the sport start putting money back into it.

These teams are all run as a business. So if Tony and Kasey are running these teams out of their back pockets, the IRS is going to have a say about it in about three years.

I really dont see how their ruining the sport. They may be able to spend more money but theres only so much you can do with a sprint car. Its not like the top 5 cars in every race is a entire KKR/TSR top 5. Guys like jason meyers been running their own team for years can compete right with them and they opperate the smart way. They have a few primary sponsors but they take up like 50+ small associate sponsors and add that cash up. They build there own cars instead of spending outragious amounts to buy cars to run the entire year. It dont matter if your Tony Stewart or Kasey Kahne, if your running a race team you need money, some guys have the smarts and alt. routes to make do with what they have and out perform the money. The KKR TSR cars are far from unstopable, until the year comes where they place all their cars between them in the top 5 every race every night and wins every single race on tour, then its time to say they are ruining the sport. With out guys like them the sport would be ruined. Joey Saldana said he wouldnt know how he could of continued with the outlaws without his opportunity, darrah never would of got this chance, steve kinser didnt know if he had the money to keep his OWN team afloat in 2010. Schatz eventually would of ran into those same issues in his family car. I will say i am a fan of both kasey and tony, but tony did not build a race team, he bought one. Kasey on the other hand started his team from nothing found the best driver that was a "free agent" team had success and were seeing his methods pay off. Kasey gives young kids and opportunity to make it big in this sport, the same way he got his start. Think of all the young talent he has had in his equiptment, brady bacon, brad sweet, kevin swindell, and now giving cody darrah the opportunity. Fact is tony and kasey are contributing to the sport, fielding cars, giving 2nd chances and big opportunity to young drivers, owning tracks, promoting events bringing more exposure to the series.
