I was just looking at the GSC website and noticed the GSC banquet is at the end of January and the CW/Placerville/Chico banquet is in a few weeks! Why is it that the GSC banquet is always in January, but the CW/P'vill/Chico is in November? Why not have both banquets in November on the same weekend so all the drivers can attend? It seems like once January comes around many of the top 10 races are doing other things and can't attend the banquet. I have gone to GSC banquets in the past and just wish they were sooner rather than waiting until January.
Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Good question. How many people show up for the GSC banquet in January? and how many show up the CW, Pville, SDS in November -Thanksgiving weekend? Having it on Thanksgiving weekend seems to be a bad day because people are visiting their families and have to call it short to make the banquet if they attend. Maybe next year when Handy takes it over 100% - he can make some changes on the banquet. Looking forward to 2010 changes in sprint car racing. Happy Thanksgiving

It's possible that racing isn't over for some of the teams in November. Some teams do some of the big out of state races at the end of the year like Short Track Nationals, World Finals, and Western World. It's possible they were trying to keep the dates open to allow for everyone to be there if they wished without having to compete with racing. Also in December isn't that when some head out to Australia for the winter? I also don't think having one huge banquet for both tracks and both series would be feasible just because the amount of people that would be there and the amount of time that it would take.

i like it how the WoO, ASCS, etc, do their banquet the next day after the last race. This way there are there, and it gets done where they dont have to come back.
Just my 2 cents if GSC last race is at Chico then Sunday have their banquet at the Feather Falls Casino.

The 2009 GSCS Banquet on Jan. 23rd. 2010 will be the last one held in the Cascade Showroom at Feather Falls Casino. The other night I was told that in late Feb. the room will be gutted and turned into a micro brewery and cafe. No plans for a new showroom right away. Things will be different next year. There was a good crowd at the SDS/PVille/CW Banquet the other night.

That's too bad about the showroom! I am glad there was a good crowd the other night! Were most of the top 10 drivers there? It seems like by the time January comes around the GSC drivers can't come. I think last year only like 5 of the top drivers were there. I only live 20 minutes from Feather Falls now so I was thinking of going. I am also looking forward to the release of the schedules, he he!

Top 10 for what, where? I cannot give you a run down. B.McMahan and S.Becker were there. C.Wiesz was not. In the Chico modifieds only M.Abouzied was there. There were seats for 250 and they were all full. Steve Lamothe and Steve Cox were taking still pictures. Check their websites and that will tell you who was there. Don`t know if anything is posted yet. There should be plenty of room at the GSCS get together.
