F&F Racing and "The Ice Man" Open 2007!

By Gary Costa

March 19th, 2007…F&F Racing and "The Ice Man", Colby Wiesz were ready for an all out assault on California's 360 Sprint Car circuit.

The 2006 season brought a 2nd place finish in the final point's standings at Placerville Speedway. Out of the 11 starts, Colby and the team were out of the top-10 only twice, and bringing home two wins.

In the competitive California Sprint Car Civil War Series, Colby and Team F&F just missed the Championship by a mere 16 points, and again consistency was the name of the game with 1 win and 9 top-tens. Colby also brought home another 2nd place points finish in the Alan Bradway and Steve Tuccelli owned mount.

With the F&F Racing hauler pointed towards Placerville Speedway for the opening round of the Civil War season opener last Saturday night March 17th, we were looking to build upon our foundation from the previous season.

The car was fast right out of the box and "The Ice Man" immediately put the Borello Racing Engine through its paces with an 11.009 which timed in 4th quick out of the 40-cars in attendance.

In Heat # 4, Colby took the newly acquired Maxim out of our heat, and moved it into the 22-car main event. The F&F Racing Maxim would start 4th on the grid. Our high hopes quickly turned to disappointment however as we cut a tire around lap-4. After going to the back, Colby got his elbows up again, and with his never give up attitude, we salvaged a 12th place finish in the shortened event.

Our next race will be this Saturday March 24th at Marysville Raceway Park, a place that Colby knows extremely well, as he is a multi-time track champion there.

F&F stands for "Friends & Family". Come be part of our family, and remember to come on down after the race and meet Colby and the whole F&F Racing team.

Please follow us on the web www.fnfracing.com and again, remember to come by and introduce yourself!
