Sides was a victim of a motor issue rather than a track issue. The thing that gets me is how the Wednesday low point totals really wouldn't have stacked up too bad against previous qualifying nights over the past four years, but Thursday produced the highest totals (six with 478+) at the top that we have seen in a long time. Thursday qualifiers certainly got a gift with a great track, but give credit to the top six for taking advantage of it as well.
As for the fans arrogance of their drivers making the Wed. guys look bad... I completely understand. I only have one piece of advice to those fans: "Don't count the chicken before they hatch!" There is still plenty of racing and the Nationals always seems to find a way of balancing out. Meyers, Lasoski and Sides will still have a say in this thing before it is over. How many Nationals does it take to realize not to arrogantly brag about "your" driver until the event is over? .......................................... unless you are a Schatz fan in which all of us reply in unison "We know, we know"
