By starting at 7 p.m., you can run all five classes on one night?

Happens every year. I don't think the curfew applies on the 4th because of the fireworks all over town.

Or you can run 4 classes - and alternate nights off for the classes. And even better - you still get all the same admission and pit pass costs - but probably not paying out the same purse when the supers are off as opposed to when the sport mods are off.

I like the 5CAN idea too - BUT - if runnin the 4 the way he does is what it takes for Lanny to make a buck and still put on the good races he does (for the most part).......the hell with it I am all for it. It's almost always track conditions that ever ruin shows there anyway - not car counts or whats off. Even the races where the supers or champs were off - they were still good shows. And I still felt I got my 10$ worth more than any other track in the state (provided the track was good). The one thing I like is always having 2 sprint classes - whenever both sprints AND the usa mods run - its a great show (track allowing yet again). And really it's only a few nights we have just 1 sprint class - and like I said - even then I feel I get a better value for my ticket than anywhere else. And unless I looked at the schedule wrong - every show we have left at SFS the rest of the year will have 2 sprint classes (minus the sprint bandit show).

Am I saying this out loud? lol - surely not - it's just too positive to be me wink

Who IS NOT looking forward to tomorrow night? lol. The next 2 weeks look to be stellar (track allowing for the final time lol). Even Lanny got his break and should be in fine form.

Lets see for the last two weeks temps have been near or at 100. I would bet next to nothing the track go dry and you can count on that for the rest of the year.

I'm not to sure about that. It seems they often can tear up a anvil with a rubber hammer. Look for the track to have 10" of mud when you get there and deep holes by the end of the heats tomorrow. He'll be trying to keep the dust down for the fireworks crowd.

Lanny has the reputation for drawing water out of a rock from Death Valley if he needs to! Old timers have a few stories.

Once back in the late 60's the track dried over pretty bad before feature time came. He had brought in that stuff to bring out the moisture, toooo much in fact. They sat in the back of the truck and drove around spreading this concoction in what looked like powder form. In 15 minutes the track was a MUDDY MESS!

The impossible had happened it seemed during the hottest part of the year, and they had to REPACK the track before running the mains. It went from dust to big flip flop clods raining down as if the area had a flood during the week.

Speaking of which, whatever happened to the big flip-flop clods from track packing?
