Okay, if you REALLY want to use racing as an example of the Obama tax plan, you need to look at it like this. The purse stays the same, but instead of it being $10,000 to win and $800 to start, it would go to $8,000 to win and $1,000 to start. The kicker is that there would be more cars, because there are more teams walking away with start money, than win money.

Hawk, you miss the point Spreading the wealth is not a good thing. It is not the American way, it is socialism But hey, if that's what you want... vote for Obama. My Dad told me if you are going to have a dance YOU HAVE TO PAY THE BAND. Nothing is for free. Not even the things promised by the politicans. Joe the plumber now knows that Obama's plan is a plan for socialism Joe got him to tell him having to much money is bad you have to give your money to the people who are behind you, that makes it better for everyone. not me. If I need it, I will work harder for my money. That is the way it has been for more that two hundred years in the country and it hasn't failed us yet. I like being able to chose where my charitable contributions go to and not the government deciding how my hard earned money should be spent for me.

You have a good point there young man. After all, Incredably wealthy are a minority. Minorities should not be left out on the tax plan.

I simply responded, using the reasoning in the first post.

Now, since you want to discuss the Fox, Rush "The Lush", Boortz and Hannity "talking points". Here is the TRUTH, behind Obama's tax plan.

It is NOT a "redistribution of wealth". The upper 95% will pay 39%, the same as they did under the Republican savior, Ronald Reagan and 3% more than they currently pay. The rest of the population will get a tax break, but only if they PAY TAXES.

You talk about "paying the band", but yet it appears that you are supporting the candidate that supported the most liberal president in history. Yes, I said it, "W" has spent more money than any president in history, even without the cost of the war* and the $700 bil bailout.

It has been proven time and time again that "trickle down economics" does not work. It has failed every time a Republican has tried it. Once again, a Bush has screwed this country royaly and once again it will take a Democrat to fix it.

Wow, if you are correct when you say that the top 5%(I assume that is what you meant) will be taxed 39% Isn't that less that what they are paying now? The top 10% pay OVER 50% in personal income tax.
Example of "trickle down economics"
The share of the income tax burden borne by the top 10 percent of taxpayers increased from 48.0 percent in 1981 to 57.2 percent in 1988. Meanwhile, the share of income taxes paid by the bottom 50 percent of taxpayers dropped from 7.5 percent in 1981 to 5.7 percent in 1988.

This is from the JEC and IRS.

The wealthy did not get that way be accident. They will always find a way not to pay taxes on their entire income. They will always find a way to shelter their money. Thankfully they do give a lot of it away and grow their businesses which create jobs for the rest of us. When you start punishing the rich for being rich they will stop giving their money away and their businesses will suffer. That is when the "trickle down economics" fails.

Hawker, if you were more ambitious and smarter, you then could pay more taxes also.

Tell me, how ambitious am I??? It may not take as much intelligence to repair and maintain business jets as it does making plaques and trophies, but my wife and I make enough to raise 4 kids and live a decent life.

The Republican ideal isn't the American way either. It is the ancient European way of having the few who are rich being the elite class and the only ones with an opportunity for fortune as they are the only ones with a good education and the rest of society, the large majority are peasants. That was exactly the type of society that the Constitution was made to avoid. Socialism is more like our constitutional priciples than a society of classes of citizens.

Actually the majority of the wealthy inherited from their parents. Just go to a private college and see all the 18 year olds driving BMW's, or watch a reality TV show on MTV and see how incredibly spoinled many of these people are, not to mention downright brainless.

44.4% of Americans in IRS year 2005 paid zero net income taxes--zero. Did not contribute a dollar to the running of this country. Gone up from 29% in 1970, approximately the time when the massive welfare nation first started to appear. As existing social programs expand at twice that of inflation and new programs are pushed thru each and every year, expect that number to continue to grow by leaps and bounds the next four years. Too many people in this country don't want to make it on their own, to get ahead in life on their own. Support your family---let the government do it. We will run out of taxpayers.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

44.4%? Are you sure that doesn't count children and college students?

and make over $250,000?

Come on, work harder, I need my welfare check!!!

lol lol lol

BTW, if it took a dime to shit, I'd have to vomit, but like you, I do enjoy life, have a couple of great kids that make more in a month than I make in a year, and have the freedom to come and go as I please ( which isn't as much as I get older lol)

You need to check your facts. The top tax rate in the Ronald Reagan original tax plan was 28%.

If McCain or Obama are in Little Rock next weekend campaigning at the 'S.T.N" I'll ask them some poignant questions on how racing and politics can work together in harmony. Settle down boys. Put away your political ammo, and your piles of so-called( propaganda ridden )facts. Pack your bags and head south for the races in Little Rock..

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/20/obama-raises-record-breaking-m/ Wonder if Mr Oprah will "spread the wealth" to some of the lesser candidates, like Ralph Nadar? Somehow, I doubt it.
