why not run both the non wing nationals and the Brodix ToC. the brodix wont get a whole heck of a lot more than 50. but that non-wing race aint gonna get a whole lot AT ALL. i mean - i wouldnt think so - osky doesnt get very much - wouldnt that be a relative comparison.
that said - i'm excited for it. the 360 nat's weekend is what we go up for every year - and the brodix was kind of a letdown after seeing the best 1 night winged sprint race in the world the night before. but yet every year the brodix turned out to be a barnburner of a race - so again i ask --------- why not just run both?

It's possible you could be under estimating the magnitude of this event! What if 70+ cars were to sign in there would be no time for both events. You also gotta wonder what the format is, traditional Knoxville National format style of time trials, full invert heats, D,C,B,A mains ...... Or maybe the same format that they run at Osky with the 2 sets of heat races for total points. I would venture to say Knoxville will do it their way. I hope it has a tremendous turn out with both cars & fans so Knoxville can look at it as something to build onto in future years. It's going to be a lon Winter I am afraid and the announcement of this show just made it a little longer. I can't wait

The Brodix has always struck me as an afterthought. It just didn't have a great niche in the speedweek lineup. Sunday is a tough night to sell, with many people recovering from Saturday, and prepping for the week ahead.
The crowds have also been extremely sparse for the event, and that's also a consideration.
And, as mentioned above, the magnitude of that show would cause a lot of headaches. Running USAC non-wing sprints breaks up the week nicely, offers the fans something different, and provides me with another opportunity to watch non-wing racing.
All in all, sounds like a winner to me!

Though poorly attended the TOC does have a nice purpose and tradition. Hopefully it will find it's way back onto the schedule somehow or maybe at another track.

3 WoO races is a disgrace for a track as prestigious as Knoxville and a slap in the face to the fans who buy a ticket. Also I see no dates for the ASCS national tour 360 races which again is a disgrace. Its the same old same old and ridiculous. Its time for new blood

360 Nationals is an ASCS National tour event.
The weekly shows are usually better than the WoO races anyway.
USAC non wing Nationals is new this year.
Looks like a great season coming up to me where you can see a little bit of everything at the best racetrack in the world! Then again, some people just like to complain.

What other track has WoO drivers running seven nights (I assume they'll show at Nationals) during the year?
Schedule looks awesome!

Well sure you say that Bill W they pay you for web development. Also Eldora, WG have more woo races. The nats are unsanctioned so Woo could schedule against it at any point. Knoxville has their heads up their asses and the weekly crowds in the first half of the season prove it.

Until you bring another 10,000 people to the stands for a WoO show, shut up and be glad we have a two day show.

In 2008...
Knoxville: 7
Williams Grove: 6
Eldora: 6
Is there something about the 2009 WoO schedule we should know that changes this FACT?

I got no dog in this fight .... but dontcha maybe think crappy weather (cold and wet and threats of rain) and the shock of gas prices shooting up might have killed off the crowds? Not just Knoxville was off ... the Iowa Cubs reported a huge attendance drop thru May and NASCAR (I know ... I know ... there is probably LOTS of other reasons too) had lots of empty seats as I observed the crowds thru the camera lens.

I'm guessing you'll see 305s as a compliment here and there again, like this year...probably depends some on car count this week...it has been down so far in their other events...

Let's hope we see 1 or 2 of the ASCoT series races in 2009.
The WoO won't schedule against the Nationals.... if you think Schatz, Saldana, Kinser, etc. will race for $10,000 to win with a tape delay instead of $150,000 to win on live TV you're off your rocker. Loyalty to the WoO points chase only goes so far.

not saying they will just that they could in order to get Knox to pony up the 80k sanction fee for the nats it wouldnt be a wise move but could happen given the nature of the WRG
What happened to the summer classic/ 1200 lb nats? Also why a 1 nite only show in the spring? and the fair race used to be a WoO race also People can say what they want about how great the schedule is but 3 WoO races is a disgrace, and it is 3 Bill W not 7

fans don't show up to the 3 outlaw races they had this year..when the fair outlaw show was going on it was on a wednesday and if you think crowds are bad on a saturday night think of how bad it would be on a wednesday
