This was posted on the IOW board. What a shame, the kid was impressive.
Chad Boespflug , age 20, was involved in a major accident on 8/2 at Lawrenceburg speedway. Chad was unable to see on Monday and doctors determined he had ruptured blood vessels in his eyes. Chad will recover from this ,over time, and as of 8/5 his sight is improving. however, doctors told him one more time of taking this type of blow and he will be blind. Chad and family have made the decision to stop racing and become supper fans.

This kid was on his way to being one of the great ones. It's a shame that he won't be racing anymore.

I am saddened and sorry for this. Chad is a great young man and we enjoyed his runs as a Bandito. The Hanford Hornet did well in all non-wing series he ran. The Boesplugs are already passionate and super fans -- please say hello when back on the left coast. Come take in a race.

Bob, Chad and Phyliss
I just heard tonight when we were racing about Chad, we are so sorry to hear this, We hope for a complete recovery real soon. We were in Knoxville and I guess that's why I missed it on the message board. I will give you guys a call soon.

I talked to chad at the union city debacle during midget week and then again at Kokamo he looked and sounded optimistic about racing again just waiting on some test results in the mean time he was working with the Ricky Williams team.
