PA Passe guys must have a hard time standing up what with that 50 pound chip on their shoulder.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

No tow money? Man of all years. This year it is probably the biggest expense in the budget. They should have boycotted that idea at the throat.

Wow, gone for a few days and look at this! My title and original posts are more sarcasm than anything else. I just knew, watching that race, when the 30C and 5W were 1 & 2, if they'd have gotten passed it would have been "Back to the porch running", or something along those lines. I know there are times when the correlation between a driver and his roots could be questioned, but Lance and Lucas do not fit that category. They were born in PA, raced in PA, and still race in PA every chance they get. If you look at the schedule for the year, Lance has run 10 ASCoC races, he has run 13 Local Non-Sanctioned PA races (not including the WoO at the Grove and the ASCoC at Port). I can think of a prime example of drivers that have raced in PA in the past, yet are not considered Posse (Jason Johnson). You don't have to tell me there are great drivers all over the country, but those drivers and teams don't get bashed when the travelers come in and take the top half of the field. Our teams have to WIN againt the WoO to not get bashed, so I guess you could excuse us fans for being proud of them when they do beat them, with far fewer resources.

Latsh: correction - they get pummeled even when they do win - this thread is testament. funny how the usual suspects managed to restrain themselves from posting "the cream rises to the top" this time!

I don't deny that there is great racing in CA and other parts of the country and there are great drivers from all over. The problem with your list is Myers, McMahon and Hannigan are no longer CA regulars. Heck we've seen Paul in PA more often than you have this year. Saw him Saturday night at Selinsgrove and he even made the feature as the first alternate. Had a much beetter run last night vs. the WOO with an 8th.

Last nights car counts Port Royal (Keystone Cup) - 39, WOO- 26

I never said that the the Posse is better than the WOO. Everyone knows Kinser is the best ever and Schatz is the best over the past couple of years. Take those two away and you have a group of racers which is on par with what we have here every week. I believe that central PA has the highest concentration of quality 410 teams and drivers anywhere in the country.

Thats the the deal, When you go out on the road and suceed at it then you are "no longer a regular" If you never "Leave the tit" so to speak you will always be a regular and I would hope master at what you have limited yourself to as a driver. The Outlaws simply spread their wings to bigger & better things.

I think Meyers winning with the WoO in CA would be similar to Lucas winning with the WoO in PA. Certainly, it would be considered an Outlaw win, but I think I can speak for many in PA when I say it's one we wouldn't mind. There are people on here that are very passionate as Outlaw fans, but I don't compare them with the passionate Posse fans. I know as a fan of PA, there are people/drivers on race teams that I went to high school with, that I've worked with, that I've had a drink with, that I see out with their families. Most Outlaw fans cannot say the same. When your comparing PA vs the WoO your comparing 50 states and multiple countries against about 5 counties in one state. I believe our passion stems from the fact that when people that have never met PA drivers are bashing them, they are not only bashing drivers, but in many cases friends and families as well. When the Outlaws win at the Grove, they are doing their job, when the Posse wins, they are living their dream.

I think there is validity to the argument that PA has the top local talent only because their best never leave. Since they never leave I think it's only fair that any track can still claim their local guys gone WoO. To me Wolgang, Lasoski, Dollansky, McCarl, etc will always be Knoxville Locals. Like I said earlier, add their wins to the Knoxville side or take Rahmer, Krietz, and DeWeases' wins away and the numbers are the same.

Actually Wolfgang ended his career back running Knoxville regularly and Lasoski is already back. I figure McCarl will be back next year. I would also expect Madsen and the 55 team back in Knoxville next year. Dollansky might stay on tour just because he has a shot at a title.

And what makes the local racing great is having a lot of talented teams and racers providing fast side by side racing every week and parity. Knoxville has just as many great drivers racing weekly as the Grove and they put on an awesome show. And the parity is unmatched. Any week Knoxville has a dozen drivers who could win. To say PA has better local racing is just idiotic.

Truth Dector asked a question that i think begs an answer if this is an equal / or comparison. How many wins did this trio of drivers rack up against the WoO when they were locals?

part of the equation that gets ignored is the local PA schedule hovers around 90 races each year...and there are folks that look down their nose at that schedule who aren't even allowed to attend 1 race a year!

trade these 90 races for 70 with a Diesel Card and a Motel 6 bill and you find yourself sitting at a laudromat watching your jeans tumble dry while the Posse drivers are at home grilling steaks with their familes on a Sunday afternoon.

still waiting for Big Slim's list of favorite locals...or maybe there are no favorite locals in Canada?

I'm just wonderin' what this latest BS is about not allowed to go to races, huh? I am the most independent human you've ever met and you of all people should know that. Went where I wanted, did what I wanted, sold where I wanted and answered to nobody (including the IRS, lol) for over 15 years in your country. The same rings true today, have some part-time very good jobs where I set my OWN schedule and still come and go as I please, in both countries. Working for the Federal Gov't on a contract basis is among the smarter moves I've made in some time. Time to fabricate some other crap to spin the story away from the fact the Outlaws pound on your boys for the most part all over the country. Even a blind squirrel finds the odd acorn and a certain Hall of Famer like Lance fit the bill perfectly one night last weekend, the others.....Take It Easy....

words like "went", "did" , "sold" are interesting choices but will not M-SPiN the story away from the STATS presented...after you predicted that we had no stats!

Driving from Canada to Ohio for dinner and a movie on the night of the King's Royal says it all.

who could even make up a story like that? lol...have a nice day in Canada!

It's interesting to me that the self-proclaimed, greatest photo retailer (NOT substantiated by any supplied statistics from you) is now crowing about not paying taxes while working in the greatest country ever. I'd weigh my words a bit more carefully when I publish them Mikey...........never know who's lurking around.wink

Anyway................I forgot how futile it is to attempt to discuss these issues with you. I'll check in again when you produce the requested stats. I trust that'll be a while.

...BRR...speaking of interesting...I bet it has been good times as of late in the VIP...with Leppo's recent hot streak, I bet Grandma, Grandpa, and the rest are having a blast...look forward to seeing the whole crew again this year...

...I guess at this point it would be pointless for me to try and tell Big Slim and the likes that you really have to experience the WoO vs Posse at the Grove to understand the posse fan's pride...oh well, I guess to each his own...

...WoO at Attica Friday...hopefully Wilson, Reed, or one of our boys can hang one on 'em...

I'll give you the first point in that very few of the top PA drivers ever leave. That is because you can race 100 times a year in a two hour radious in central PA. You can't do that in the Knoxville area so they have to leave if they wanna make a living driving sprint cars. If you ask me I think it's your loss if you can't see the drivers you still claim as Knoxville locals race each and every week. Dollansky, McCarl and Madsen are Outlaws this year, not Knoxville regulars, sorry about your luck.

I won't argue the fact that Knoxville has a nice field of 410's this year with the addition of Lasoski, Tatnell, Henderson, Hindi. I'm sure it's an excellent show. You say you have a dozen cars capable of winning and that's good but we've already had more than a dozen different winners in central PA. There are very few cars at the Grove that aren't capable of winning and in fact there are only a handful that haven't won a feature in their careers. The only measuring stick we have to measure the strenghth of locals is the WOO. We'll see how that stacks up at the end of the year.

So, when you first started, you were just a gimmick account? And you only signed up to start trouble?? This is what you are accusing me of, is it not? Because I did not chose to sign up and participate, but rather just viewed the posts makes me a bad person? What will it take to make you believe that I am a completely new account, not a "gimmick"? Is a person's post count the only measure of merit that people consider valid? If so, I fear that I am lost. It took me 4 or 5 years to feel strongly enough about a subject to sign up and post. It may well be that long again. But, I won't be dissuaded from my viewpoint, nor scared off. I do apologize for taking so long to reply to this thread, but life intervened. Many things take precedence for me over the internet, unlike quite a few posters I've seen over the years.

I obviously am not getting through to some of the folks here by being well-spoken and mild, perhaps I should resort to being brash and pushy. No, I think not.

As far as I can see from all of the stats listed, noone comes anywhere close to approaching the level of the WoO. Be it because of $$, talent, or "That old black magic", they ARE the best. If you chose to participate in a competition knowing full well that you are at a disavantage and then don't win, man up. If you do win, be gracious. Why do you think all of the WoO drivers are quoted as saying "The Posse is the toughtest competition we face"? Graciousness, tact, and politeness are part of every great racer's equipment.

I will say this one last time for those who can't seem to understand plain English:

My only point was that noone, no sanction, no area are a fart in the wind compared to the "Greatest Show on Dirt". They may snag a win now and again, but I fail to see where that is reason to shout from the mountaintops.

Did my inclusion of a semi-off-color remark make it more comprehensible?

Bragging that someone who is no longer "Posse" won against the WoO doesn't further the PA claim to fame, it merely makes the person saying or posting it look ridiculous and feeds the widely held belief that Posse fans are rude, crude and frankly obnoxious. This also feeds the old joke that anyone who ever raced is Posse. "WOOHOO....SOMEONE WHO SAID THE WORD PENNSYLVANIA ONE TIME WON A RACE!!!". I cannot see it, sorry.

My apologies to the 99% of the Posse fans who supposedly are great race fans. Hopefully one of these days I can make my way to your fair state and partake of the atmosphere. None of my posts were directed towards them, but rather towards the ones who've been mentioned numerous times in this thread alone as "pot stirrers/cheerleaders/rah-rah boys/etc.".

Being the best of the rest is not laudatory from my viewpoint. Something to be proud of, certainly. Something to brag about to the world?? Not so much.

Lastly, if you think that only SK and Schatz are better than the rest of the country, you need a reality check. Last time I looked SK was in 5th and Schatz was in 2nd in the WoO points. Yes, it's still early in the season. But it seems that there's a lot of great racers in that sanction, and any WoO show is worth the price of admission.

To me the only thing that makes a WOO show the price of admission is when you have a stoudt group of local cars to give them a run for the money. Other than that the racing certainly isn't any better than a regular show at any of the top 410 tracks in the country that you can see for half the price. Yeah there's great racers in the WOO but there's just as many great local 410 racers in PA, Knoxville, OH and CA as well. If you don't think that MANY of these guys couldn't do well if they had the funding to run on the road with the WOO for a few years, then you need the reality check that LD should have just delivered to ya.

This entire topic has become mind numming!  Why does this seem to be the argument that happens every few months and never seems to come to an end?  I have nothing to add to this, however I will say that while I'm a Posse fan...I'm also a sprint car fan and that means that it doesn't matter to me if your from California, Iowa, North Dakota or Ohio.

at least you had the good sense to come here and witness it in person before you appointed yourself an expert. Nelligan has been here a dozen times and is still dumbfounded. you are welcome back in our section anytime, just let us know when so we can have the welcome wagon ready!

Brian's grandparents are the best...she brings treats for everybody each week and how cool is that? they were on top of the world this week - well Friday and Sunday anyway. Brian got caught up in the Rahmer / Montieth dust up on Sat. at Lincoln and trashed the short track car...then lost a wing going into 3 at Post and ruined the 1/2 mile car - which was the money maker of the stable. i am sure they are thrashing away to put a car together for Friday. the crew works hard and Barry Jackson has been heping the team this year.

good luck to your locals...you know if i was on Ohio Soil that i would be cheering for JOHN IVY and JIMMY NIER!

back on topic - interesting that Big Slim found the exit sign when asked to name his favorite locals...maybe the WoO guys need something to do while sitting around the hotel and fired up their laptop? and then we have Nelligan bragging about tax evasion while working a Fed. Gov't job in Canada! living proof that there is a high point in every carnie's career.

You missed me that much BRR?? I'm touched.....hopefully it wasn't a "bad touch".

As I mentioned last night, I have an actual life away from the internet so I don't get much time to post; probably another reason I put off signing up for so long.

My favorite drivers? People you've never, ever heard of I'd say. But, I'm sure that as soon as I post this people will be winging to Open Wheel Times to see where I'm from. Wonder if they'll pay me for all of the extra hits they'll be receiving.

Okay, let's see....I'd have to say that they are (in no particular order):

Jay Russell

Jay Jordan

Tadd & Terry Holliman (son and father team)

Tige Jensen (Lonnie's son)

Josh Riggins (JJ's son)

Larry Pinegar

Doug Deterding

Scott Bivens

Aaron Pella

But, to be quite honest, I'd say my very favorite is Ed Raines.

I'll check back in 1/2 hour or so to see if there's anything else that I need to clear up. After that, I fear that I'll be occupied with reality.
