Dewease is getting off to a very fast start. If he can be successful in the Ohio tracks he'll be tough to knock off, in my opinion.

Agreed
The rest of the AllStars better keep him in check the rest of the week or there going to find him very tough to catch. The Ohio tracks are definitely going to be the test for the 30C, but you have to figure Lance will be very tough to beat during the PA swing. It's too early to call anything, but it looks like that teams is answering all the questions correctly as to whether they are title contenders.

...agreed, Lance probably will be off to a hell of a lead when they leave Florida...but keep in mind there are only 4 dates at central Pa. tracks (two at the Grove and one each at Port and Lincoln) compared to 17 dates around the state of Ohio...that is not to say that Lance can't be successful in Ohio, but guys like Blaney, Wilson, and Danny Smith have a lot of laps around those tracks...
...that being said, it is great to have Lance running the ASCoC schedule this season...another quality team with an excellent driver makes the points battle that much more interesting...

Good point, I didn't bother looking at the schedule. I knew there were only 4 in PA, and I should have assumed that many in Ohio. I think Lance can adapt to those tracks, I think he can drive anywhere and any concerns about the team seem to be unfounded. He will definitely get some tough competition from the guys mentioned, I know he struggled a bit during Ohio Speedweeks (struggled for Lance Dewease, anyway). I'm glad he chose this though, I'll still get to see him in Central PA plenty, and it makes the All-Stars a much more intruiging group to follow, IMO.

...what Lance will have working in his favor is that he will have the chance to race 3-4 of those tracks more than once...he will have already raced Attica, Fremont, and Eldora before Ohio Speed Week rolls around...and often times the ASCoC championship is won and lost during that week...
...time will tell...it's going to be a great season !...

Isn't Lance technically a rookie in the All Stars since he never ran a complete season with them.

You have to run less than 40% of the races in any given season. Lance has gone over that mark last season if not prior seasons. He had 42% in 2007.

Nice adjustment to the rulebook to allow Neil Shepherd and Lee Stark qualify for ROY. Previous years the rule has been 30% but they changed it to 40% to get these two able to qualify. Oh well....

You have to be a registered member of the All Stars by Feb. 1 and declaire you are running for ROY to get Rookie points per the All Star rule book.

The adjustment was made from 35% to 40% based on the much lower amount of total races run in the past few seasons. Stark and Shepherd and the rest of Ohio for that matter would be over 35% just running their local races when the All Stars come around. These guys are true rookies in the eyes of anyone with decision making power within the organization and consideration was given to the fact that they only ran a handful of races while not following the whole tour in previous years with the intention of running a full season for rookie honors. All that being said - Layton would be eligible if he was running the full tour - which he is not.
