yeah I think Lanny is showing his ninja skills in promoting once again. but seriously the sprints will eternally be the main attraction - but the mods aren't too far behind in their own right. would it be safe to say the mods are more popular in Oklahoma than the late models? not to be down on late models - they are cool too. But IMO out of all stock car classes - mods are the best. especially at SFS. They are definitely the best of the 3 classes - and on some nights pending track conditions have been known to but on better shows than a sprint class or 2. But dogwater do you find it pretty interesting that at the same time Lanny wants to have this special mod show - Enid is runnin their Winter Nationals? Enid has a hell of a stout field of mods - but I think there are more than enough in the state (and region) to go around. tough to decide where to go that weekend - ah hell no it ain;t - thats Short Track Nationals weekend.............nevermind.
also - It's pretty clear the emphasis is on the 2 sprints and mods - as - I haven't counted yet - but at first glance it appeared the pro's and factories have more off nights than anyone else.
The sprint bandit with 1k to win mods looks to be one of the most exciting races of the season followed by sprint bandits at Creek on thursday - ascs sooner region at sfs on friday - and Lawton ascs on saturday..........now watch it prob. rain out. thats gonna be a hellacious month of racing after the all-stars at wichita and the 4 Knoxville 360 races (nat. and brodix). and the 2 race weekend at SFS at the end of august. cool stuff.
btw - has anyone heard anything bout strawn sellin all the cars and/or not runnin any of em next year? I know thats rumor type of deal but a friend of mine heard it while golfing with a fella who "claimed" to know. I told my bud it probably wasn't b/c you would think someone woulda heard somthin bout it- so not tryin to spread rumors - just tryin to clarify that 1 in particular - anybody heard anything like that????
Schedule looks pretty good - almost identical to last year - except the additions of the specials - very good additions too I think.

dude(s) there are several different schwings for this year.
The Sprint Bandit shows at SFS and Creek followed by ASCS Sooner at SFS and Lawton are pretty "lathering". But the best is still the 7-30 All-Stars @ Wichita followed by 7-31 thru 8-2 Knoxville 360 Nationals and the 8-3 Brodix ToC. And it appears we could be staying up for both Oskaloosa races. Man if I thought the Chili Bowl was a heavenly marathon - geez - that one might very well lay me out for good. and of course the 4 day Oklahoma "speedweek" is barely a week or 2 later. And then in consecutive weekends - Lawton Winter Nationals, SFS Winter Nationals (or Cowtown) - Devils Bowl Winter Nationals, Short Track Nationals, and then the November Sprint Shootout @ Cowtown. I'm already dreamin of passin thousands and thousands of mile markers................schwing then sleep - schwing then sleep - schwing then sleep. great routine. Now if I can stumble (or marry) into some money I can hit the Indiana Speedweek as well. it works for many. lol. yeah Im jokin. As for Strawn race cars - hard to think there is smoke without fire - but those cars have been a fixture at sfs as long as I can remember. hard to believe the orange and black would not be in attendance. guess we will know in about 6 weeks.
BTW Mike I know you're already lathered up for the Pro Cuts TMS race - lol. and bundled up as well.
The self-heating hot chocolates are stocked - as are hand and footwarmers. dirt track racing can't possible start soon enough.............

Yeah. I do find it interesting that Enid and the SFS are both having mod specials and that Lanny's show is on top of Enid's Winter Nationals... but then again with as crazy as the post season
schedule is every year you'd be hard pressed to find a weekend that
wasn't on top of something else.
I doubt Lanny's show will be $10k to win like Enid's but who knows he may surprise
me... I didn't think we'd ever see any mod specials at the SFS from him. So
I guess we will have to wait and see.
