I didn't say anything about Lanny..Crackhead! I like Lanny and talk to him almost every week. I also support the ORA, BUT I said it's just to strict, thats all. Why don't you pay a little closer attention to what you read before you talk your shit! If a driver don't come to SFS because of "Dick Heads" like me, then he ain't a racer because "Dick Heads" are everywhere. I've been called worse by better so just go play somewhere!frown

I agree J.D. The "ORA" is supposed to represent the racers if I remember right! I have never understood why when something is brought up about safety, rules etc... Why is it that it "has" to be approved by the promoter? Doesn't promote mean to advertise, bring in fans & racers to support the local track? Not dictate what the racers do that has a so-called racers organization? Nothing against the ORA, they do a great job in general & theres nothing as good as the Booster Club. Like you said J.D., the ORA heads as a group need to do what needs to be done to bring the fair & great racing back like it used to be!!! I remember years ago, back in the 50's & 60's, because that is the time when my dad owned a car, he told me the racers handled things themselves. The promoter was just the promoter!!

I'd like to hear Shane's opinion on this as he was growing up around this at the same time I was. Just my opinion & going to stop now before electric goes off again!!

Lanny is too drunk to remember which year of rules he's running! He was a babbling idiot up there Sat. night. We all were just trying to understand what language he was speaking.

As for the banquet, the ladies did one heck of a job with everything. Got away with some extra lug nuts for next season! LOL!

Mike, what I did last night is exactly the point. The ORA can not decide whether what I did last night was a good enough reason for not going, it's none of their business. I'm not giving up on the ORA, just trying to make some suggestions to better the organization. I've been a board member and chair of the board for several years. If the food and building were better, that's a step in the right direction. Now make it better every year and you'll have to find another building to seat all the people that will want to come. Here is what the ORA needs to focus on in my opinon: What is the motivation for a car owner or drive to join that know that they are not going to finish in the top 10? I can look at the entry list in every class and tell who will finish in the top 10, for the most part. There is absolutely no reason for someone who either is going to race part time at SFS or can not make the top ten in points to join. You find a reason for the guys who finish 14-25 in points to join then you increase the membership and everyone benefits.

Kenny I think they have the meetings and attendance policies and all the good stuff for a good reason............to promote active participation within the organization. I doubt folks are damning whoever wasn't there....................but I imagine its an organization that needs all the active participants it can get. And I bet attending those functions are very much appreciated by the people Jorski mentioned in his post - all the people that put time and effort into it. If more follow their lead - maybe the ORA could get even more done and maybe have a stronger voice as well. That doesn't mean a promoter will listen - but it is still good for things to be discussed and what not. And the point money and awards they do should have the full support of all regional drivers. The ORA is only as good as drivers and race teams in the area make it............jmo.

If we could all be like you! I know what they do. This aint my first rodeo. It's just to strict. So fuck off!

no need to drop f bombs man............

THIS IS NOT THE TULSA METRO RACING BOARD. in this forum we actually talk race related things 60% of the time. as opposed to the tulsa board where a race related topic is a foreign idea and smack talk is the norm.

we have good discussion without it. instead of that f bomb - just say piss off or somthin. nothin wrong with throwing a few other expletives down - but f bombs take away from what otherwise might be a very good intelligent opinion.

yes he is.

peeps should work together more for the good of the whole and less for the good of the few. the situation with the FS are a great example.

That is exactly what I'm talking about. People don't attend, yet they are the first to BITCH about the outcome.

First off I have attended at least 5 meetings this year and have been going to the meetings for 25 years. I know why have the meetings, but they require you to go to at least 4 meetings. You get to a meeting, because you have to go to 4, and it starts at 8:00 and is over by 8:05. That is a waste of time for everyone. Maybe having less meetings or only having a meeting when there is an issue to discuss would help. I would have 1 planned meeting during the race season and the rest during the off season unless something pressing needs to be dicussed. I appreciate what the booster club has done and will do. What I have a problem with was the comment about how to fix the the problem of people not attending the banquet. I feel that is the wrong way to go about it.
