what really prevents it from happening? If they saved the cost from setting up the half-mile and just ran the 3/8ths - that would save a lot of money - and it's better to see em run that than not run anything at all. But what stops folks like SLS Promotions or others from runnin a WoO show at OKC? Is it sanctioning fee? What is the WoO sanctioning fee these days?
If they did it every year - it could be the Carson Memorial or somethin like that........b/c it's a shame there is not a single yearly race at OKC that honors Bud Carson - although there are many racers as well who deserve that honor too. It could even be a big sprint show with ascs, supers, and champs.......or somthin like that...........well just a random thought. Any ideas?
How much would could a wouldchuck chuck if a

What I heard is that the sanctioning fee is too much for Lanny to make any profit from the gates and concessions. I did not mean to make this thread a pro Lanny or hate Lanny all I was doing is answering Fan's Question.
I think Okc might have been spoiled a little by the car numbers of the ASCS when they come though. I have not followed the WoO much after they left but what are the averaging what 20 to 25 cars at the regular shows.

Also heard the outlaws won't run here because of the light poles. This came from a former outlaw.

The light poles were moved , Over the past few shows when they used to race here the car count dropped because it was not a telivised race . Sure was fun to watch em though !!!
winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

Shane made money and was pleased with the WoO shows that he promoted there, why can't Lammy? I bet that if Shane was given the opportunity to do them again, he would.

Not doubting you or anything but the times I went to the Outlaw shows I always heard over the PA Ben telling the fans if you know anyone that is at home and they are a race fan tell them to get to the track b/c we need people in the stands.
Also, I bet the ticket prices then were alot less then they are today.

When they quit running here the light poles weren't moved and television had nothing to do with car count. Until the last 2 years the outlaws only traveled 7 or 8 guys full time. When there are no tracks anywhere close running 410's it is hard to get a good car count. The light poles weren't close to the only reason, but I know several of the guys didn't like it. I believe the major factor was probably the sanctioning fees.

How many "local" guys would be able to run? I'm guessing not a lot have a 410 laying around, and you need some sort of local support for car counts and a good show to make a profit in my opinion, by the way, I don't like Lanny, and all my threads can be considered anti-Lanny posts. But I love Cheese.
