I see that Brad Sweet is promoting the 49er Gold Classic. He said the name was chossen becasue gold was found around Placerville in 1849. I am wondering if there is a back story to him using the number 49 all these years. Does anyone know if it was chosen due to his interest in the gold rush or was it fluke and only connecting now with no real connection.
Neat to have 49 laps also. Maybe California will get another big money 410 race sooner than later.
