Dear Tony,

A huge round of thanks goes to you from everybody at Knoxville.

Your extremely quick arrival from Kansas was a huge surprise. I can not believe how fast you got there.

The autograph session was much appreciated, and your smiles were also.

I think you were actually enjoying the chance to meet with your fans.

I doubt I could ever be as friendly as you were Saturday night when everybody wants 30 minutes of your time.

Thank you again for all you do for racing in general, Knoxville in particular and the hundreds of things you do behind the scenes that very few people know about such as MRMF.

Thank you again

Duane Davis,

Knoxville Bound Benefit contact person for Iowa

Hard to believe, but Terry McCarl was Hoser of the Year also.

Much in part for his behind the scenes efforts and for giving Shawn a ride in his 2 seater.

Knoxville/Eldora/Charlotte Bound is a great effort.

I ASSUME Duane is being sarcastic?

Let me guess, Tony was a grumpy?

Wonder how his mood is today?

you are dead wrong, Tony was a gentleman all the way.

I normally say things tounge in cheek, but this post was serious.

Tony was on his best behavior, smilled, allowed his fans all the time that time permitted.

Once again, Thanks to Tony for all the good things he does.

Many people see some of the "bad" things he does, but for every bad thing, he does a hundred behind the scenes good things for the racing world and communities.

that is an issue for me.

99% of what I post is pure unadulterated BS, but Tony has been a perfect gentleman towards me each and every time we meet, whether it be in the HoF, a skybox a race ect.

Maybe I get along with Tony is because I have never asked him for an autograph, and respected his private time.

Pictured here is a photo of the belt I made for the FRC, some MRMF golf trophies I made are in his collection also.

PS: Sorry for the blurry photo, the shooter is not used to shooting these fast race cars and pretty ladies.

I'm not a fan of TS, and I simply cannot stand his new flavor of the month...

But I have witnessed first hand, more than once, the way Tony's handled himself on behalf of the Ross Family and the MRMF and could not believe it was the same Tony Stewart...and he seemed genuine.

Sadly, being the cynic I am, I wonder why he's such an ass the balance of the time???

Duane - is Hillbillary airsick?  She looks a little green around the gills!

I read up on that subject while still married. If you look at the sympthoms of Bi-Polar and Borderline personalities, you will find just about everyone you know has them. I think it's what we do with these tendancies that help define us. If drivers weren't so serious about what they do, how many of us would watch?

I can name drivers and personalities that have or had the same issues. Yet they are the foundation of our sport. It has been let on to Tony not to hide every emotion. Between living in what is becoming known as a Prozac nation and being brought up to believe that being a toughass is sometimes necessary, I find it hard to know where the definition starts. I prefer the toughass route since there are bills to pay either way.

My husband and I have met Tony several times. Everytime he was alway a gentlemen. We have been at a friends camper in Knoxville with him, and he was just one of the guys, enjoying the racing and the fellowship. The last time that we met was in Knoxville, 2004. It was Jay's last time at the Nationals, We saw Tony after Jay did a interview on the radio. He stopped and asked if we needed any help getting back to the Hall of Fame. He is a good guy with bad days and good days. No one has all good days. Give him a break. He does alot of good things for people that no one ever knows about, for he is that kind of a person.
