We see Kasey Kahne, Carl Edwards, and Tony Stewart giving back to the sprint car world.

Why has Jeff Gordon not done the same?

Jeff spends HIS money as he see fit, just as you do.

And Tony and Kasey's teams are funded by OPM - other prople's money. I'm certain that if Bud, Armor All, or Bass Pro cut their funds, you'd likely see Tony/Kasey cut back, too

Ya it's funny on here.

That there are people on here that think Kasey and Tony spend money on sprint car racing.

They MAKE MONEY!!!!!!!

what does carl do? it is nice to see kasey and Tony jump in one once in awhile as well as Dave Blaney!

who pays for that prelude to the dream? would that be possible to do with sprint cars? that would be cool to see how Juan Pablo, and Jimmie Johnson, and if Mark Martin could get one around

I always see the obsession with OPM when referenced by Nascar drivers and their open wheel teams.

Do you think it's as simple as picking up a phone and asking for it?

I recall a very good source explaining that Tony would do commercials and appearances in exchange for sponsorship dollars for his sprint car team.

Besides... even if it is entirely OPM (which I 100% DO NOT agree with)... why don't more drivers pick up a phone and make the call, since it is downplayed as nothing by some in here?

OPM... Jeff sure isn't running a team with OPM despite his laundry list of corporate sponsors.

Lots of people don't lift a finger for grass roots racing.

WHY oh why do people continue to knock people that do???

Jeff has 1 kid and another on the way as well as a wife. He doesn't owe sprint car world anything and

the fact that he always has good things to say about sprint car racing is good enough.

It appears Jeff has no desire to become involved with any of his "early forms" of racing. That being his decision, I think we can drop it.

Could he do it? Ofcourse!

He could pick up the phone, call Pepsi and have a team on the road in 45 days.

But...that is NOT what he wants.

When Jeffy is finished racing I "think" he and his family will go to Florida and we will hear little to nothing about him.

He is doing what he loves...not winning...but making ton$ of money so more power to him.

I don't owe him my respect either. You don't have to start up a sprint car team or buy a track to support sprint car racing. But I don't hear of him doing much of anything.

Jeff Gordon is doing the right thing. Praising sprint cars when he gets the chance. Tony Stewart and Kasey Kahne hurt sprint car racing more than they help it! Sure they give the outlaws cars but they also drive UP the cost of racing a sprint car.

Not bashing Kasey Or Tony cause im glad they can provide Joey, Paul, Brad, Steve, Donny, and Levi with rides to feed their families but,

Jeff is doing is own thing, no its not with sprint cars but he is doing stuff just as good, he is doing stuff for kids. Having his own foundation that supports a childrens hospital is just as good as supporting racing. I would love to see Jeff field a racing team but if he is helping kids thats better than anything else he could be doing

Now if Kasey and Tony get a foundation as big as Jeff's and get invovled with kids as much as him then there might be an argument for Jeff to get involved with racing

all nascar drivers are doing their part to support sprint car and dirt track racing. How? By providing worthless racing on Sundays so that i cannot wait for my trip to the nationals. wow, have the last few weeks been snoozers in nascar.

Before you guys get carried away you need to check and see what all these drivers are doing before you yap about what they are not doing. They all support something and give back for their own choice and if it happens to be a kid in stead of a sprint car so be it. A true giver does not stand and tell you every time they do something. We like to pick on them but a lot of kids would not get cared for with out them doing their thing.[Victory Junction] For one

Well, youre reinforcing the "other people's money" thing with that. I will give credit to Tony for running the Prelude to the Dream race and not profiting all of the money...but in reality, the fans who buy the tickets, and the people (like me) who order the Pay Per View are actually "givin millions" to charity from that deal...

You are giving yourself to much credit after you buy the ticket and they put on a show for that ticket it is no longer your money. If you use that logic the money belongs to your boss cause he gave it to you. You did not give the money, you bought a ticket then the money was his.

Tony Stewart supplies the venue, organizes the event, draws the drivers in,advertises, and raises the money for childrens hospitals and Victory Junction with the prelude. Yes the money does not come directly out of Tony's wallet. But if Tony did not have The Prelude there would be no money at all!

Half of people in NASCAR (at least) came out of asphalt Late Models. The only ones involved in the short tracks are Kyle Busch and Bill Elliott's team, with his son as the driver.
