Half of people in NASCAR (at least) came out of asphalt Late Models. The only ones involved in the short tracks are Kyle Busch and Bill Elliott's team, with his son as the driver.

Jr owns at track
Rather than make a list check your info first

I was talking about who owns or races short track. Besides, if you're talking about the track in Monroe, LA that JR had a piece of, it went bankrupt.

The Biff is part-owner of 2 dirt tracks in the PNW. Think he also helps out his relatives with their late model efforts.....

You know I see alot of bashing on some drivers saying they don't even use there own money on teams, you would probably be really surprised to know some of the things Tony stewart pays for out of his own pocket and the money he gives. Kasey Kahne is the same way, some people really just don't get it though, there is no reason to hate all the time

Not sure if any of you all know this with this being a "sprint car forum" but Clint Bowyer and Bobby Labonte also give back to dirt track racing...I believe Labonte has a dirt late model team (Earl Pearson, Jr. and Brad Neat) and Bowyer has Dale McDowell driving for him.

IMO all the racecar drivers mentioned above can do with what they please with their time and money. They've earned it and it's no one's business but their own. It's unfair to bash Jeff Gordon or any other driver because he chooses not to field a dirt track race team. Kudo's to all who are involved within the racing community for giving back in one form or another. Be it charities, benefits, foundations, owning race teams, owning race tracks etc..... I think its all good.

I am always embarrased at the Chili Bowl when Tony Stewart is booed. He supports dirt track racing and he stays as late as it takes to sign autographs Sat. night after the races (and there is a huge line outside of folks wanting his autograph who didn't even go to the Chili Bowl). I respect any and all drivers. I might not like them all - or pull for them all - but they're still out there doing what we all wish we could do. I appreciate all that they contribute to... with their money or OPM.

I just read a story the other day about Jeff Gordon being an active advocate for having infants immunized to prevent whooping cough, doing interviews for press releases, the whole nine yards.
The guy might not be out running a sprint car with every second he has to spare, but he's not sitting at home watching paint dry. Cut him some slack.

Yeah cubic he curses every time he gets the big fat check for being half owner of the car Jimmy drives. If he has sucked for the last few years then there must be quite a few others that just plain blow.
