I am close to around $2000.  If I was to do the full Nationals I would be around $2600

Totally depends on amount of trips that year. In 2016 I did the math and I had spent around $7,500 for racing. Wasn't a typical year. Last year I didn't do any overnight trips at all and probably was around the $1800-2000 mark. I get some free tickets here and there and lots of car pooling which helps a lot. Entire family only goes part of the time and kids are still free at Knoxville which is why they go there the most.

Between subscribing to Dirtvision, Flo, Area Auto Racing News, Dirt Empire, Speedway Illustrated and Sprint Car Unlimited, plus season reserved seats at Williams Grove, Lincoln and Port Royal, I am in the hole almost $800 before I ever attend a race. That being said, I do not have any other hobbies like hunting, golfing or fishing, so dirt racing is still fairly reasonable in my eyes. I usually attend approximately 15 races a year in person (mostly special shows with an increased admission) and try to go to the Knoxville Nationals every three to five years.

I don't keep track, but probably gonna be a lot more now that I don't have to take care of my Mom

I flew to Indy for the BC39 soon after she passed, motel, tix.... money well spent!

In the summer I try to combine racing trips with my other interests, so its hard to isolate specific racing $$

Last year was close to $4,500 and that was all spent on 2 trips to Knoxville for just me and my wife. Eleven days in June for the Outlaws and Cornbelt and 12 days for the Nationals in August. Now that I sat down and added it all up, I may have to rethink this racing thing; that's about $450 per race attended (2 rainouts) for the two of us.

This past year I think I went to to 15races not including the Nationals. From what I show between gas, food, merchandise, a hotel stay we were nearly at $2200. Majority of those are just in our state and we drive home with the exception of a Lincoln trip we took. Adding in the Nationals between tickets and gas (used my work points for a free hotel) that is about another $1000. I cut the streaming this past year because we are always gone on the weekends with no connection so it would be a waste of money. Plus other people have it hooked up to their haulers so we just watch it with them.

Flo - $150 annually

DirtVision - $300 annually

$450 for streaming

360/Cappy/410 Nationals

tix - $1,400 (family of 4)

Hotel - $1,800 for around 12 nights

Gas - $500 round trip. (1,000 miles one way)

Food - $1,200

Approximately $5,000 and that's being tight

This doesn't even count any local/regional shows.

Nothing like being there, but you can see the math.

I can do a lot more things with that $5K

I don't keep track but I can probably go to more races on less money than most.  Never married, no kids and tent camp if I have to stay overnight and I ride a motorcycle anywhere I go.  Plus no money spent on streaming, for me racing loses too much on TV,

Stirring the pot, trying to get people riled up so that he gets attention.

I have a very successful friend that rents a plane and I believe he went to almost all of the HL shows and the Chili Bowl last year. I can't imagine what he spent. I know he and my brother flew to the HL show in Lernerville and still were able to watch the feature at Beaver Dam Raceway the same night on their way home.

He only lives about 3 hours from Petey so they probably have the same budget.  Maybe their jets file the same flight plan.
