Stirring the pot, trying to get people riled up so that he gets attention.

Or maybe he's trying to provoke my "liberal guilt"....

Homeless people everywhere, people starving all over the world, & here we are spending beaucoup $$$ watching guys go  around in circles...

Maybe I should give up sprint car racing?

Nah.... wink

I'm spending $450 per year on streaming channels but not getting to many races.  Whenever I add up the cost of attending a live race vs watching on TV I can't justify the cost to sniff spent methanol.  Our neighbors raced at Husets last season and I wanted to go but the cost of a motel room, gas and meals vs watching on Dirtvision just didn't make much sense.  I had cataracts removed a couple years ago and have 20/20 distance vision so aside from deer hiding in the ditch I could still road trip.  My wife doesn't go to races but has no issues with me going to any race up to and including the Nationals.  I don't go because going to races solo isn't much fun.  I got out to Cedar Lake a few times when family was out there.

I went to races solo every weekend when I was taking photos, got there early and stayed in the infield until the final checkers.  Truth be told I'd love to make a few Husets and Knoxville runs but the solo thing just don't do it for me.  I think about picking up a camera again but the endurance to do that all night just isn't there.  Televised racing will be good this year so I guess this is a good time to be a retired old racing fan watching from home.  I miss walking the pits and hanging with the photographers all night and have never been much of a grandstand person.

You're a relative newcomer & want to kick people off who've been on here for years? We've had plenty of controversy here & nastiness too & I don't recall anybody being banned

Trailer park people? A few years ago somebody (from the polite Midwest?) called Pa. fans "a bunch of New Yorkers dumped in a trailer park"..... I'm originally from Noo Yawk & have lived in a trailer park... I take it as a compliment! Smile

Attention bore is boring. Why don't you go troll some political sites where you'd be right at home with your immature trolling. Isn't that why you got booted last time?

I'm been spending less on sprint car racing the past few years, the premium products just don't do that much for me anymore. I have a flo subscription but rarely use it. I'll still go to 20-30 sprint shows next year but motorcycle flat track is where I'll find my most exciting racing fixes.

Sniffing spent methanol: PRICELESS! wink

For years every race day I'd get there hours early and walk the pits talking to people.  When hot laps were about to start I'd run out to the parking lot, grab the gear and spend the remainder of the night taking photos.  I have spent so many nights breathing spent methanol that it's no big deal not doing it anymore.  Truth be told there are other sights, sounds and smells that conjur up fond memories.  I'll never forget turning into the wind and launching jets off the flight deck.  Those experiences still fuel my dreams over fifty years later.  Standing in turn one when 24 410's take the green was a similar adrenaline rush.  I'm not much for sitting in stands, it's just not the same.  I do it once in a while when someone from the family is going that I can hang with.  I have a different perspective of racing after being in the middle of things.  Our neighbors are stepping up to 410 and they fire the car off and tune on it all summer so I can sniff spent methanol and listen to an idling 410 while drinking my Saturday morning coffee.

The last year that I totaled up my racing expenses (2018), I spent almost $10,000 on pit passes, grand stand tickets and hotels.  That total was for 123 nights of racing and did not include any money spent on food, gas, streaming services, tee-shirts, etc.

Some of you should get tow money for showing up and paying the bill so the race teams can have fun.

That is a little over $80 on average. Was it worth it?  I suspect if was.

For the most part, it was fun. However, I am not a fan of poorly ran programs and/or one lane tracks.

I tend to go to the pits to (1) help out the promoters (extra money for them to help cover their costs) and (2) I like to take pictures of the cars before they start racing.  I always head to the grandstands to watch the races once they start racing.

We get it, you don't have to justify yourself

You've done a lot of stuff, followed racing for years, & are getting older

I'm a year older than you, but have only been following sprint cars since 2010... not burnt out yet

We'll see after this summer. I'm gonna try to hit lotsa races, all the driving could wear me down too.

Enjoy it any way that suits you ! Smile

Excellent points about poorly run programs and one lane tracks. One advantage of watching streaming is the boring parts can be skipped if a person starts watching far enough after the start.

I like hearing the announcers. Sadly unless they have track tune that is often nearly impossible. That is where tracks could made a cheap and easy improvement if they have decent cell phone service. Designing an effective PA is difficult otherwise.

Thanks for saying that I repeat myself in a polite sort of way.  I have a short memory and tend to preface every comment with my life story.  The family gives me hell for telling the same old stories over and over.  No harm intended, I'm just old and forgetful.

Streaming should improve the poorly run programs. If viewership starts dropping off for some tracks, I'm sure they'll get pressure to improve their product or get replaced by something else, like swamp buggy racing.
