FASTRAK Southeast/Northeast Drivers Converge to the Gordon Park 100
$5,000 to Win National Event This Weekend in Augusta, Georgia
**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE** February 27th, 2013 FASTRAK PR
(Four
Oaks, North Carolina) – The off season slumber is about to be awoke
again. The beautiful sound of FASTRAK Pro Late Models fires up around
the 3/8th mile Gordon Park Speedway this weekend. The 2013 FASTRAK
“Decade of Speed Tour” season is ready to get started with a $1,000 to
win match race on Friday night March 1st. Then the $5,000 to win
National Event Saturday March 2nd is going to be a National Points event
for the FASTRAK Racing Series. A lot of money is on the line and up for
grabs as the quest for the FASTRAK World Championships and City
Chevrolet Touring Division Championship begins in the “Peach State” of
Georgia.
We are expecting a big turnout of FASTRAK Pro Late
Models this weekend. Bottom line the weather up in the Northeast is
still frigid conditions but racers are looking for a place to come and
compete. Many FASTRAK Northeast competitors have got the racing fever
“niche” accomplished running in the 37th Annual East Bay Winternationals
in Florida a few weeks back. Drivers including #75 Colton Flinner, #20
Wayne Robertson, #99* Rick Singleton, #68 Kurt Wasch from Wisconsin and
so many others from the Northeast/Great Lakes came down for the event
at East Bay Raceway Park. Many of them are coming for the 1st Annual
Gordon Park 100.
The Gordon Park 100 event is in the territory of
the South. With that drivers of the FASTRAK Southeast/Mideast region
are ready to “fire up” the 2013 opening event for their region. Some of
the Southeast/Mideast drivers of the FASTRAK Racing Series also competed
at the East Bay Raceway Park. Many include defending and two time
FASTRAK SE/ME Champion #11 David Smith, 2011 Champion #44 Brandon
Umberger, #8b Steve Banal, #11c Chris Ferguson, #2 Dennis Franklin and
the driver from Middleburg, Florida who dominated the Winternationals
winning all three events #58 “The Magic Man” Mark Whitener in the Barry
Wright. Many of these drivers and countless others are racing this
weekend March 1st and 2nd.
Remember Gordon Park Speedway will
have an “Open Practice” this Thursday night February 28th from 6-10pm.
The track will also host a "warm-up" GP100 event on Friday night March
1st which will pay $1,000 to win for the FASTRAK Pro Late Models and
will also feature the heat races for Super Street, Stock V8, Super Stock
4, Extreme 4, Road Warrior and the Dwarf Cars. For more information
