Lonnie Wheatley, TULSA, Okla. (August 27, 2007) – Florida's T.J. Winegardner clings to a slim points lead as the American Sprint Car Series Rebel Region makes its second stop of the season at Green Valley Speedway in Glencoe, AL, on Saturday night.

It marks the first of two nights of action for the ASCS Rebel Region, as the series takes on the ASCS Coastal Region at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, on Sunday night.

Entering Saturday's event at Green Valley Speedway, Winegardner holds a 14 point lead over Brian Thomas of Pendergrass, GA.  Matt Linder of Hoschton, GA, enters the night ranked third, with Tyler Godwin of Lutz, FL, and Kenny Adams of Malabar, FL, rounding out the current top five.

Six different drivers have reached ASCS Rebel Region victory lane in seven events thus far in 2007, with Adams the only driver to post multiple wins.  Drivers posting one win apiece include Matt Tiffany, Michael Dupuy, Wade Oliver, Marshall Skinner and Lee Sowell.

Southaven, Mississippi's Oliver collected his first career ASCS victory when the Rebel Region invaded Green Valley Speedway on March 31.
