The Modern Chevrolet FASTRAK dirt late model series heads to the 4th annual $5000 to win $250 to start 'FASTRAK and Fireworks' event. Although the event had been held at Volunteer Speedway since 2005, the series has moved it to Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia GA.

"Lavonia is 'home' for the series" stated Michael Hurley of FASTRAK. "We wanted to bring it home where we could promote it well and promote our teams and partners". Hurley is the new PR director of FASTRAK.

The areas largest fireworks show will be held Saturday night at the Lavonia Speedway. The fireworks will take place right before the late model 50 lap main event.

"I'm really excited about this event" said Brad York promoter of Lavonia Speedway. I"ts great to see the series move this event to our speedway. This is one of the largest events of the year for the FASTRAK late models and they won't be back again until the first weekend of October for their night one of GRAND NATIONALS thats pays $50,000 to win. I hope a lot of the teams come on and get some 'paid practice' so they will be ready for the NATIONALS".

$5.00 coupons will be at stores and motels all over the Lavonia, Carnesville, Toccoa and Hartwell area. The $5 coupons will be good for Saturdays race in both the grandstands and pits. "We hope this will help the fans and our teams" said Hurley. "With five people on a team thats a $25 savings and hopefully it will offset the fuel cost".

Friday: July 4th will be the FASTRAK late model open practice for at least three rounds plus the Enduro, Hobby, Stock four and UP Front classes racing. Afterwards the FASTRAK dirt late models will qualify to finish then night up. There will also be a 'live remote' radio broadcast from WLHR with a roaming pit reporter interviewing both teams and fans.

Saturday: July 5th the FASTRAK late model teams move to the parking lot of Dills Food City in Lavonia GA for a autograph session with drivers, their cars and the FASTRAK tractor trailer. The driver autogrpah session will also enjoy once again a 'live radio remote' broadcast from WLHR. Begins at 11:00 ending at 1:00.

Saturday will also host the FASTRAK late model heats, Limited late model, Modified four cylinder then FASTRAK last chance race followed by almost 20 minutes of continuous fireworks for the fans and teams. Shortly thereafter the FASTRAK late model take the track for their infamous 4 wide salute to the fans and the hardest 50 laps of dirt racing you have ever witnessed.
