The long tall quiet Texan Gordon Woolley from Waco started out his career entering in roll over contests getting $10 a roll over at the Suicide Bowl in Waco.

Gordon soon switched to jalopies traveling thru the South and Southwest racing these cars to the tune of 17 straight feature wins in a 1937 Oldsmobile.

In 1959 Gordon saw his 1st sprint car race and decided this was the class of cars he wanted to race, he bought one and entered a race on his way back to Texas in Des Moines winning $50 for 6th place.

In the 60'a Gordon joined the IMCA, in 1963 Gordon was the 1st Texan to win the points championship and he did it with a chevy powered sprint car, for ten out of twelve years he raced IMCA Gordon was in the top ten in points, the greater New York Sports Writes Association named Woolley, "the most outstanding sprint driver of the year.

1967 brought a big win at the Tri-State Championship in Hutchinson KS.

Already enshrined in the Nationals Sprint car Hall of Fame, the Big Car Racing Association Hall of Fame, Knoxvaille Raceway Hall of Fame, and the Belleville Highbanks Hall of Fame for Midgets and Sprints.

Another great selection for the 2016 C.A.R.B. Hall of Fame, Gordon Woolley. Enjoy.
